Apart from one awful pass from Bramble that put us under pressure, I didn't think there was much between either of them .....and you actually watched the match?? There were several errors to be fair. Several? Can you name them? Well you're at it can you name the moments of quality from N'Zogbia too? If you watch the game again really carefully you can't bloody miss them!! Off the top of my head (there were more). Taylor gets too easilly turned by frankfurt player who gets a shot away (Bramble does get a block in then though). Taylor dives in again and loses man, their fella gets shot away. Two strikers lining up on 6 yard line Taylor no where near and Bramable cleared it! IF THIS WAS BETTER STANDARD OF OPPOSITION IN THE PREMIERSHIP, HE SORRY WE WOULD HAVE BEEN PUNISHED YET AGAIN FOR HIS BLUNDERS! GET RID ASAP Zoggy had some decent brakes and was fairly solid defensively too fairly good all rounder today. Substitute the name and very similar things happened to the fella you gave MOTM to. Maybe we should get rid of him too. Neither played well and neither played particularly badly. They were under a fair bit of pressure and both did adequately given their ability. I did watch the match by the way but having watched newcastle since the 70s, getting older and going a bit senile I cant say I have your eye for detail. Obviously not, no hard feelings though. Taylor wasn't most people's Man of the Match without good reason. Would you give Titus a new contract? Personally i couldnt afford his wages.

Both had the odd dodgy moment - Taylor and his diving in for instance led to one of their best chances, he was turned inside out for another. However, dont let stuff like that get in the way. Ramage has no chance of ever being a Premiership standard centre half.

Gazza for me. Never seen anyone as good as he was in the run in in 1986(iirc). Incredible footballer. Woodgate was very brilliant too. Still think he is head and shoulders above every other British centre half and certainly the best in black and white by a country mile.

Still think that is the biggest collective adrenalin rush I have ever seen at a football match when he scored that goal. I was near the scoreboard and ended up at the front about 15 yeards to the left. No idea how I got there or how quickly but it was the most important goal I have seen scored at SJP.

He needs to work on his shooting as well. I wonder if GR has individual training regimes?? I still can't fathom why Martins starting position is on the left.....A player who is only left footed, should have his starting postion (for runs) on the right, this is the modern way ie Messi being swapped by Rijkaard last year. The way it is he has to cut back on himself and away from goal to get a shot off......Does GR look at these things?? think milner is a poor footballer at the level we aspire to be. Nowhere near good enough and going back a few seasons he wouldnt have made it as a squad player (i.e. getting on the bench regularly)

Ramage has played centre back in the Premiership twice. We lost both times.

I'm by no means a fan of Ramage, but when playing in the centre, I think he's a good as Taylor. Of course some people on here will claim that Taylor is the new John Terry.... Not exactly a commendation is it? Ramage has played 2 premiership games at centre half by my reckoning and been shite in both. Taylor is equally poor and he can fuck off as well

Probably get rid of Bramble but he is maybe ok as back up - e.g. 4th choice centre back. Would bin Ramage as he isnt up to Premiership level and never will be. Babayaro should maybe stay unless we get another 2 left backs in. Same goes for Carr. Would sell Taylor if we can get the type of money we gave ipswich for Bramble based on 'promise.' i dont think the kid is up to it. Milner is awful so get what we can while the money is decent. Depends what the expectation is but i would certainly prefer to see us looking to bring in the likes of Bridge rather than persevering with the tat we have at present.

Sorry if it seemed that i came over a bit strong before, although i just coulden't disagree more it was meany to be tongue in cheek and i was just having a laugh with you. Even teams with the very best CB's concede goals sometimes and even the very best CB's make the odd mistake or two ad have off days etc etc. Ramage isn't a LB and hasn't been good at times playing out of position (which is a credit to him as other pre-madona's would point blank refuse to play there) but in his normal CB role he hasn't had a bad game this season! Alongside Taylor (who has made a few errors but i'd still stick with) he has looked the better of the two this year anyone can look a bit nervous next to Shambles because he gives alot of us nightmares when he is anywhere near the ball, his distribution is awful as is his decision making, sometimes when he hasn't cost us the game people go over the top in there praise for Shambles even though he may have been lucky his mistakes went unpunished that day. We've given him way to long now and he's not the joke of the premiership without good reason. I understand what you are saying. I am not advocating Brambles inclusion. He has had too many chances but I cant see where Ramage has shown in the Premiership that he is likely to be any better. In the two games he has played there he has looked well out of his depth. He is also certainly capable of a fuck up. As is Taylor. Bramble can be exceptional as we saw at the weekend. He can be awful as we have seen many other times. Ramage simply isnt good enough in any way shape or form. I cant see him improving despite a few games in the cups at centre back where he has looked OK. I have always doubted whether Taylor would be decent and at present he is making a bloody good job of insisting he isnt up to it either. For the sake of everyone with NUFC at heart I would bring in 3 new centre backs as quickly as possible.

Really cant see the evidence of Ramage ever being a steady, dependable Premiership centre back. If you find it then let me know where it is and I will take a look. Personally I cant see where he has had 1/2 a dozen decent games in any position. To say he is dependable based on a few games playing adequately is stretching credibility. He cant pass, position himself, head a ball and is far too slow. That doesnt really say much for his dependability does it? Bramble isnt the answer but despite his errors he still has more to offer than Ramage. That in itself says it all about our current situation. the point sadly remains that we have 1 centre back who can turn in a performance like the one Titus gave at the weekend. Sad but true. Why are we so desperate to flog Milner? He's the best young player we have, and Davis is a player we don't need. Milner is and always will be shite. Zog isnt anywhere near the player he is hyped to be but is significantly better than the other young uns. Taylor is marginally better than Kevin Scott but will never reach Steve Howey level.

George best wasn't fit to lace Pele's viagra tbh! Maradona was the best I have seen by a long way. Cant comment on Pele but if he was better then he was something very very special. My mind cant really compute how a footballer could be better than Maradona.

Know what youre saying but Bramble had the kind of game that Ramage will never have on Saturday. Titus gets stick and rightly so but he has way more ability than either of the 'Geordie Boys'. He drops too many clangers, of course, but I cant see where Ramage has shown he is a better centre back than Titus.
