Solano was outstanding Martins kept them busy, as did Dyer. Edgar was very solid. Given did his job. Taylor was ok with the usual caveat of daydreaming and dodgy decision making. thought Emre was ok too. Kept them busy. Parker made some very good challenges. Overall a good performance but not sure about Taylor until he sorts his positional sense and daydreaming out Martins was absolutely gash. Dyer wasn't much better. Ditto parker. Taylor was head and shoulders above the 3 of them I reckon.

Taylor made some poor decisions and was at fault for their second goal (the lead up to it). He did ok. Parker was at fault for the second goal. The ball was played out to Ronaldo who had Solano in front of him with Dyer dropping back in to help, as per usual Parker gets drawn towards the ball (even though there was already 2 players going for it) leaving a hole in the middle for Scholes to step up and score. He also passed it straight back to Given from the second half kick off too, didn't see the point in that at all. Bollocks. Watch Taylor doing a girly star jump rather than positioning himself properly to attack the ball which is what he should have done. Even his body language tells you he fucked up He played ok generally but no better than that. Nb: Parker was already there and Dyer got drawn to the ball as well. Generally a shit goal to give away Dyer was dropping in to help Solano all match whether Ronaldo was on his side or not, Parker for whatever reason came from out of the CM position towards the ball leaving a huge hole in the middle. The goal all came from Parker kicking it straight back to Given from kick off, why any outfield player would pass a ball back to his keeper knowing he has a slight groin strain and was having trouble with his kicking is ridiculous, we should not have surrendered possession from our own kick off so quickly and cheaply. Parker just can't hold his position, if you look at their first goal Man Utd make him look stupid passing the ball around him, he was trying to close everyone down when there wasn't any need. Parker was there before Dyer. Dyer was pulled from midfield. Watch the video of it. Its amusing for the star jump I've already seen it, Dyer's responsibility is to drop back and help the full back which is what he was doing, there was no need for Parker to go out there, he should have been in the middle with an eye on Scholes. Parker was there!!!! Already. He had tracked Fletcher (iirc) who was beyond Scholes at that point. Dyer got drawn to a situation and left Scholes who he simply ran past when two men were already there. theres no defence for him there. It would be academic but for the star jumper though

i broke down outside a brothel in Bulgaria once. The floor was littered with cockroaches and it was still cleaner than the lasses inside. Friendly people though. Romania is stunning but completely fucked up. God knows how it got into the EU. I couldnt wait to get out and on their roads that took quite some time! And what the fuck were you doing outside a brothel in Bulgaria in the first place Waiting for happy hour. Took more than hour I was driving my mates car to Northern Cyprus for him and it broke down - well I hit some tram lines! Try getting 3 new tyres and one new wheel for an MG in Bulgaria with a man mountain pimp descending upon you at 3am The jack my mate had put in was wrong so the big fucker just lifted it for me. Could of done it mesel but me hands were full

Just for you Alex Taylor was ball watching on the second in the build up. He gave the ball away too often for my liking. He did ok but I simply think he was average. As for Bramble? Well he isnt good enough.

Wasn't given the chance. A blind man on a galloping horse could see he's going to be a cracking player in the right situation. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs culled/a lobotomy. The right situation being The Championship presumably

He can play on the wings but his best position is as an attacking CM, I think it could be a case of him being too good to miss out on rather than a necessity, if he does continue to develop the way he has then there isn't any reason that he can go on to be an England regular in the future. He's a midfielder who will get goals which is something we could do with to take some of the pressure off our strikers, spending £4 million on him now would be good business for the club and represent a long term investment. We never replaced Bowyer either. Bowyer was shite in his time here. Seems to have taken that form to West Ham too. Giles Barnes says on an interview on Youtube that his preferred position is up front by the way although he doesnt seem worried where he plays. A Derby supporting friend rates him highly. Apart from a few clips on Youtube I dont know much about either. Bale doesnt appear the quickest which is something we lack at the back. Prefer that we found someone a bit more experienced that Bale anyway.

quoted for truth To be fair having read that post I think I have changed my mind. Good player but if money can be spent better elsewhere then fair enough

A striker of any merit wouldn't think like you though. He would back himself to be first choice irrespective of who's already here. He'd definitely see hismelf first choice alongside Martins with no Owen, and when Owen returns way down the line he may still be fucked or this new striker has outdone Martins and still retains his place. Also we pay shitloads of money for people to be 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th choice! It would be ideal to have a young, promising strker coming through as 4th choice now. Shame as he would defintetly be getting some experience. Come to think of it our current situation is similar to the time Ossie blooded a few youngsters. Clark, Elliott, Watson, Neilson, Appelby, Howey (maybe Smith) etc etc. Didn't do us OR them any harm. Altogether different standard of player in Ossies youth team:Watson, Clark, Howey, Thompson all made the England squad in their careers and many felt that a young Robbie Elliott should have barring injury. Not sure the same will happen with our current incumbents. Howey was a country mile better than Taylor at a similar age for instance.

By the way make sure you have an address and telephone number of where you first stay in USA. Need it for visa form on plane on way over. There are plenty of hotels up in Midtown Manhattan and the Metro system is easy to navigate from there. Youre not far from Central Park. Hotels can be expensive though so be careful there. I was in a basic in Santa Barbara this summer and it was $200 dollars a night. Similar in NYC the summer before. You might need to book well in advance to get some decent rates.

Worth going to New York. UN building is very interesting and the harbour around Brooklyn Bridge is worth going to for the views. If you can book into the Federal Reserve then that is worth doing. Its free iirc but you have to do it in advance. Get your lass to stroke the Bulls nuts and your sorted apparently! As Gemmill says the area around Carmel, Monterey and Pacific is well worth seeing. Bit colder than LA but superb beaches. The 17 Mile Drive through Pebble Beach reminds you how wealthy some people are. Its a 5 hour flight from JFK to LAX but cheap as chips. Drive up the Pacific Coast Highway to Big Sur is fun but I was shit scared of the edges of cliffs. San Francisco can be done in a day but its too much really. Spend about 3 days there. Alcatraz and the Golden Gate are close together. Then Vesuvios and City Lights book shop (home of the Beat Poets like Kerouac) isnt too far away from there. Muir Woods is up the road about 30kms at a guess but stunning. I would say go to Haight Ashbury if you like a bit of musical history and go into Amoeba Record ship on Haight Street. Very good restaraunt round the corner too if you like Mexican food. Worth going to the Hollywood Bowl jsut for the experience no matter who is on and its never too expensive to get in and Sunset Strip you can see Starfuckers at the Cat Club. Really good band of famous (ish). If you want your nuts felt then go to the Body Shop. Some bonny lasses there at $40 dollars a fumble Failing that go to Zuma beach and watch the Dolphins then the big titted lasses from Malibou! Hope that helps

No, it was a very bad appointment which everyone thought would fail from the off. of course it was mate. But I'm sure the Charlton board thought it was a "plan". I am curious to know what some of the lesser lights on here think about other clubs making bad appointments and not having a "plan" though ..... they realised they got it wrong and made a decision, which is what I've always said is what happens. You'll be asking yourself that question then?
