  1. so you would turn John Terry down If he was going to cost 30million at least then yes, i would. are you mad ? Who said owt about 30m quid ????? Danthebrain said he only wants to sign a left back, but he's been coming out with tripe since August - and probably earlier.... As Dan's not here to explain himself, let me explain his fairly obvious point to you. What he was saying was that he would sign a 21 year old to play left-back, but that at centre-half what we need is experience, not another kid that's barely out of nappies. Think before you jump down people's throats and talk shit. Pretty obvious what Dan was saying. Accurate too.
  2. Should be interesting to see who they get - this is the e-mail I got:
  3. Was very good last year with Shaun Ryder, Doves, New Order, Marr, Mani, 808 State, Stephen Fretwell, Elbow and 9 Black Alps. Excellent moments throughout. This year its Ian Brown, Charlatans, EATB and some to be confirmed. Worth a visit if any you like that kind of stuff. Forgot to say its on 30th March and tickets on sale this friday
  4. Washington School and particularly St Roberts had some very good footballers when I was at school Simon Doherty was particularly good. Fucking hated playing against that big sod! Oxclose and the others were shite though. We won fuck all cos the two teams above I used to work in Washington too. Wouldnt want to live there though.
  5. That kid whose name I cant spell has been brilliant Namers are up the top if you want some help Aliadiere (cut and pasted)

  7. Loved the Smiths. Lyrically he was just a cheeky sod. Followed them since 1983 and seen them loads of times. Would be a shame if he did this but not untypical. He tends to be contray. Alex, where does this stuff about Morrisseys lyrics comes from. Like what? Just curious. Marr's solo stuff is very good. Morrisseys last two albums have been excellent. Never really liked Electronic, The The or Marr's stuff with the Pretenders. Saw Marr and Rourke play together for the first time since the Smiths broke up at Manchester vs Cancer (Marr sang How Soon is Now and There is a Light surprisingly well). Superb gig and New Order played a set of Joy Division!!

100% sure ??? Yes corroboration ?? He is quite correct. We won 5-0 away at Antwerp in our first season back in the UEFA cup for some time and Rob Lee scored three with his head.

    Blatantly scripted.
  10. a new defender or two should cure that We need a striker AND defenders. That is obvious to even the most blinkered pleb. However, anyone who feels our current back four are capable of competing in the Premiership for the rest of the season needs their head read. you obviously expect the shit board to provide more funds - again - than better boards. You need your head read. The game today should have been dead and buried, the best defenders find it difficult if the people in front of them can't hold the ball and allow teams to attack them, or finish off games when you are in front. Get your head read again. Oh, and look at our defensive record. And ask yourself who will score the goals if Martins is injured. Did you see the game today? Funny how you can comment on exactly what the problem was, yet others aren't allowed to because they don't see the games judgement made over several games this season, but it didn't take many to make it, and its been confirmed many times over. No it hasn't. It's just your opinion, nothing has been confirmed at all. When our defender make stupid mistakes, you blame the strikers for not scoring more, or holding the ball up. If that were the case, why are Chelsea struggling to cope without John Terry? Why do the big clubs invest so much in defenders these days? Don't bite Gol. Your reasoned approach will be blown to bits in seconds by the self-proclaimed NUFC Oracle mine is a reasoned approach borne out of the experience gained from watching the team for 42 years, what is yours based on other than defending your mate or simply not having a mind of your own ? Unless you have a very bad cold?

  12. a new defender or two should cure that No, you're perfectly right, we don't need any defenders. What a tool. my view which has been posted often is that we need an out and out forward far more. I have explained the strategy behind it, which is obvious to a blind man if you watch the team and understand what you are watching. I don't think defending a rearguard action better is the key to scoring more goals and winning games, it is holding the ball up front and defenders don't do that. If you can't see this, you are nothing but a total knacker. Think everyone is aware that someone other than Bombadil has their hands on that accolade.

  14. Dyers got a few now. Makes a hell of a difference to the side. Good to see. (This is true unless he has spilled your pint and/or set fire to a £50 note in front of you )
  15. Brum down to 10 men. Martins pace was 'quite incredible' according to Craig Brown
  16. Where you from then? Newcastle? Nb: For Ted Maul - I was brought up in Chester-le-Street - Nowt wrong with the place! My cousins (residents of Westerhope, Wallsend etc) call me a mackem but......
  17. We played Sheff Wed at Hillsborough on Boxing Day of that season and we took a fair old following. It was hard work getting to the outer sections the way they had it organised. The Leppings Lane was an accident waiting to happen. That TT is an knob of epic proportions.
  18. Think the 'realistic' supporters will see it the way Dyer and Shearer have put it simply because we have fuck all chance of winning the league.
  19. He's a terrier in midfield He gets into too many scraps. Maybe he wants to be in Fight Club with Brad Pitbull
  20. Funnily Taylor does drop well behind the line yet again obscuring Shay's view for that one. Martins is up front where he should be Martins was getting involved in link-up play which, judging by the other night, he can't do. Gave the ball away on numerous occasions. One of which lead to their first goal. Tenuous

  22. Very true. If we were a well run club then players of that standard would never make upwards of 15 appearances for us in their career.
  23. Solano was outstanding Martins kept them busy, as did Dyer. Edgar was very solid. Given did his job. Taylor was ok with the usual caveat of daydreaming and dodgy decision making. thought Emre was ok too. Kept them busy. Parker made some very good challenges. Overall a good performance but not sure about Taylor until he sorts his positional sense and daydreaming out Martins was absolutely gash. Dyer wasn't much better. Ditto parker. Taylor was head and shoulders above the 3 of them I reckon. Are you trying to say Martins, Dyer or Parker had a good match like? If so, I disagree. All 3 were head and shoulders above Taylor. Martins movement for once was very good. He kept the centre halves occupied. Dyer was outstanding - he tracked back and ran at them when the opportunity arose. The pace of the pair of them ensured that they didnt start to push the line further up. Parker played well and got some very important challenges in. Taylor was OK. Nothing better than that. Centre halves are paid to play football, take responsibility and position themselves to attack the ball when it matters. Not do star jumps and drop a yard behind the line as he did for the second, to use one example. What the fuck he was doing in the first half nonchalently passing the ball from his own penalty area straight to Paul Scholes with very little pressure is anyones guess.
