Those fuckin retro mullet things did the rounds (and in some cases still do the rounds) are atrocious. Even worse when they have them dyed piss yellow. £2.50 all off at Barrys Barbers for me.

He never answers questions when he [realises he] has fucked up. He still hasnt answered any of mine either. Cue: "yes I have" blah blah [insert expletive] blah......double wanker etc

Only 4 clubs have a better squad than us?

Nice bit of cow bell! Sounds decent. Good luck. Recording isnt bad by the way.

Taylor has never struck me as anything other than an average centre half. Positioning, posing and believing his own press tend to let him down at times. His passing and lack of pace dont help either.

Many have shown their appreciation of the current board. I have said it myself and seen others say it. However, it doesnt prevent objective criticism of some appallingly bad decision making throughout their tenure. Whilst expectations have risen, it is all relative. They have a responsibilty to shareholders and stakeholders to ensure they PLAN what is going to happen within the business. Find me something with some academic rigour that tells me a plc is better off not planning its recruitment of key personnel and I will gladly accept your argument. i await your response to the above request.

Have Chelsea or Manchester United made progress on the field of play? You asked for an examples and I gave you them. After all, in your words "what happens on the pitch is all that counts" Despite being in the profession for over a decade, I have not yet met all schoolteachers. Maybe this is your deep rooted angst coming through again. Sometimes it manifests itself in bigotry, others just plain bloody mindedness. You seem to have the club at heart but nowt between your ears. Shame. Nb: Bloody good holidays the 'deluded' get though. So I doubt any of us mind your opinion. Sadly, I said to you recently - when you told me you were a schoolteacher - that I had met some teachers who were sound and pretty straightforward, so don't actually judge them all to be the same at all. However, since then I have got the feeling you are one of the deluded, stupid ones who live in a dreamworld. You should learn to read, or at least remember. You are still only quoting 2 clubs. Thus missing the point, which is that we have done and are doing better than most. Are you so thick you think that everyone can be like ManU and Chelsea simply by following their "blueprint" ........ and being taken over ? The man who has gave ManU their success has been at the club for 21 years, long before their takeover So when you said 'all' you forget to say 'except? It occurs to me that you may miss the irony of your 'learn to read' comment. Thus I will point you to the 'all schoolteachers' comment above. You asked for successful takeovers linking 'success' to league position. I provided it. Anyone daft enough to think all takeovers work is a just that, daft. The reverse, however, is equally true.

I, however, dont believe a word Leazes says. Blokes an idiot. Anyone with a modicum of social skill wouldn't keep on going like a retarded two year old. It's the fucking internet for heavens sake. You'll have to tell me what you don't believe then. Unless you're full of shit too. What? Obviously the nonsense you spout. Easy bite that one What nonsense ? You're a teacher aren't you Don't you want to learn anything Of course I want to learn. I continue to learn everyday. However, I was taught at University to use informed and reliable sources. such as league tables, when evaluating how much progress a football club makes under new owners, for instance ? Like Chelsea and Manchester United you mean?

sorry Renton, but I don't recall too many people saying they wanted Robson out that summer, some maybe, not many though. Sorry Leazes, I'm not in huge disagreement with you on all this stuff, but I remember Robson's team being booed as they did their lap around the pitch on the last day of the season by a half empty stadium. Souness's team got a better reception at the end of his first year. I was disgusted actually. Finish fifth and people can't be arsed to hang around and give the team a bit of a clap. Its all about expectation. Bobby finishing fifth was seen as a backward step and we werent too convincing in finishing there anyway. They did get booed and there was plenty of disharmony about the place at the time. We had a season of players pissing about, taking the piss and getting too big for their boots. Its been said often enough by enough people that unity is paramount at a football club - Ferguson has mentioned it recently, as has Mourinho and even Sibierski did in his interview this week. We didnt look too cohesive either on or off the pitch at the time. Perhaps thats why FFS decided to employ Souness, I suspect so. Its a shame the way it ended for Bobby but Freddie didnt help that summer either. He really should have planned the appointment of the next manager rather than cutting his legs from under him with that daft statement. We havent really recovered from that. Poor management all round, whichever way you choose to look at it.

I don't disagree and already did said above that I know that appointing the right manager is the most difficult decision a club has to make as there is no guarantee that it will work out. I never blamed the board for the decisions of appointing Dalglish and Gullit, in respect to the latter I was actually quite happy at the time and thought he might be a bit Keegan-like. In fact (as were you) I only was totally sure that the appointment of Souness would never work out. But I still think that apart from the necessary luck you need with this kind of decisions that football does involve "planning" in the term of strategic thinking and trying to make the right decisions well in advance. It is more than leaning back and look how the manager is coping with the job, you do have to support him. And you need the right staff for it, either of it concerning transfers and making sure you don't have an unbalanced squad (as we have now), training (it took the club too long build the appropriate training facilities with both Keegan and Robson complaining about it for a long time), academy, physio staff etc, but also the necessary business side as a Premierleague club is today a big company. It is just my opinion that I think that the club was lacking effort in a lot of these things in the last couple of years, but I do see positive signs in certain things. Edit: And to me Bellamy was always a "planned" signing in the sense that Robson was fully aware of which type of player he needed to get the best out of Shearer. That was why he brought in Gallacher before and Bellamy later (and in whom he was already interested the season before). With Jeffers I only think that Robson had alternative "plans" as well. Correct. Bellamy would have been signed straight from Norwich if the funds from the Big Dunc sale had gone through earlier iirc. Bobby rattled on about it for quite some time.

My proper friends are from back home. Just people I know from school and early drinking days. Most of us left the area over ten years ago. About 3 or 4 of us are planning on going back to live there this year. About 5 of them will never come back probably. Get invited over for nice cheap holidays though. Still not sure coming back is the right decision. Might get stuck there. Still keep in touch with people from my travels and work down south.

Clearly not charismatic, particularly strong tactically and I distrust his ability to bring in players. He has steadied the ship but he isnt one to take us to where I think we should be. Very few clubs can generate the turnover we can. That potential has always been there. We need someone who can be seen to bring confidence to the supporters. they need to know that it is worth parting with their money. I'm far from convinced Roeder is that man. We have finished in the lower half of the league 5 times in 10 years. With Robson it was evident that he had the ability to construct a team and the fans backed him and turnover from ticket sales and merchandise was unaffected. Taking into account the larger capacity stadium, of course it increased. In percentage terms we didnt make as much as we would have during the 4 'difficult' years. I dont think they will be as willing to back Roeder. It will be difficult to regenerate the optimism if we dont make swift progress on the pitch. In the end that is the core of this business. We really should have planned a successor to Bobby a long time ago. Its not like people didnt know he was getting old. If we had then Souness may not have been appointed. Strategic planning involves the long term, of course. That includes the key figures within a business. Probably the most important figure at the club leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion. Can't really blame him for taking the opportunity though.

Is Madley near telford (black country) if so I think you are onto a winner here There is a little village next to Telford called Madley (Ive stayed in some hotel there called the Madley Court), Telfords about 15 mins away from Wolverhampton and has got nothing there but Inland Revenue buildings and a shopping centre. Imagine Washington on Prozac and you have an inkling of the Telford buzz. stayed in a cracking hotel in Madley, overlooking a private lake. Was working for a food company when they took a ice cream factory over in Telford (Clarkes) drank in Telford, like you say what a fucking hole Thats the hotel, big old manor house type with a dining room the size of the city hall. If you go to Telford you have to drink in the villages on the outskirts unless you fancy the bar in the bowling alley. Telford is shocking. Ironbridge is very nice though! Washinton is appalling, as is South Shields. Mold is bloody awful as well.
