Think that was a smart move by Hunt, a lot of people in the South will be pretty upset though.

I'm studying in Edinburgh but my parents live in London so will be heading back there when I graduate. Will send her a speculative email with CV attached and see what happens.

Bit of a stab in the dark but do you think she does internships? I'm graduating in the Spring and have my heart set on working in some capacity for Labour in Westminster.

When I mentioned Jon Cruddas I made absolutely no connection to the economy. The reason I mentioned him is because I think his work will be decisive if Labour are to win the election. Many of the academics that are working together with Cruddas at the moment are strongly influenced by John Rawls. If you want to get a rough feeling for what these people stand for check out Michael Sandel's new book http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/184614471X/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=103612307&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=0374983917&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=1BCSWCETXQJRVGSCBPGX Now, with regards to the whole austerity vs. borrowing thing. This is an overly simplistic way of framing a pretty complex economic debate that has been going on for donkeys years. Both sides have some pretty sound arguments, however, given the mess that Japan are in after similar austerity in the 90s and the lack of growth we are experiencing here I'm more inclined to go with Keynes' depression economics over any Neo-Classical formula. Robert Skidelsky's 'Keynes: The Return of the Master' pretty much sums up the sort of position I would take and that I hope Labour might, I also like Krugman but he has a tendency to be too dogmatic.

Couldn't disagree more You should take a look at the work Jon Cruddas has been doing. It will be interesting to see how the manifesto turns out but with Cruddas as head of the policy review I expect it to be nothing short of brilliant With regards to cuts and the economy, the longer we get no growth the more receptive the public will start to become to any sort of alternative. I agree Balls isn't a particularly loveable guy but he knows what he's talking about

Really? The Spectator?

He's been reading too much Gramsci

Thing is Hague was never ahead in the polls and was up against a popular government. Ed Milliband is up against an unpopular government that failed to win a majority (No party in power has ever increased their vote). Win for Milliband by default as the tories tear themselves apart.

Anyone changed their mind? Thought he was pretty impressive at the conference seems to have stepped up his game recently

If the Republicans are stupid enough to select another white man as their candidate she'll win, if on the other hand they select one of their young latinos it could be a close run thing. She's done a great job as secretary of state imo

Do you believe all soldiers that have died serving the British army have blood on their hands? Would you propose some sort of definition for who should be remembered and for those that shouldn't? Or would you scrap the whole thing altogether? -

For the sake of clarity, who would you say has innocent people's blood on their hands? Is it the government that gave the orders or the soldiers that followed those orders? -
On prévoit que la clique française

Some good decisions there by Pardew. I hope it works so we don't have to retreat to 4 4 2
