  1. Quite liked her. RIP.
  2. "Precautionary tests" apparently. She'd better not pop her clogs tonight anyway, I've just finished off the last drop of booze in the house and there's only the dodgy corner shops still open.

Stevie knows nowt about Liverpool despite having a ton of opinions on the place? Pardon me while I faint with the shock of it all.
  4. OK, just spotted a dirt-cheap (by NXEC standards) train fare for the 5th, so I'm coming up for this one too. Won't be a huge amount of drinking time afterwards, but enough for a couple!
  5. never know, liverpool can run hot and cold, that's why they're really fighting for 4th place Won five in a row in all competitions though. A propos of nothing, I've been meaning to say this for a while but... SCOOOOOOOOTER
  6. Cubicle walls at the Trent say a dozen times is all it takes.

  8. You reckon? yup I know. I rather thought you might. I'd kick your arse on the basketball court mind I played for the school once when they were short. I'm fairly shit like. We got stuffed off Heaton Manor and I was probably our worst player. Not surprised your team lost if they were that short tbh.
  9. Surprised you didn't say oh you won't be able to do it. Just like I couldn't grow a tache. I'll admit I'm wrong about your tache-growing skills the day you audition for a Village People tribute band.
  10. Good man yourself - I'm aiming for a future assault on the GNR but this year has come too early, so count me in on the donations front.
  11. That's the earliest case of "crying off the summer 5-a-side" I've ever seen.
  12. On a related note, Jonny, this may have been mentioned before but I believe the top mention here is one of yours: http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/sport/2008/02/...r_swingers.html
  13. Aye, as Wolfgang says there's the Metro (though if the map on that particular hotel's website is right, it's basically between West Jesmond and Jesmond stations, so there'd be a bit of a hike either way), and there's definitely buses up Osborne Road from somewhere in the city centre - not sure about numbers though (possibly the 33?) or where from exactly (though Pilgrim Street would seem likely). Anyone? EDIT: Tell a lie, West Jesmond is clearly a bit closer. But if you end up somewhere else on Osborne Road then that might not be the case. Confused yet?
  14. And yeah, I should have thought of Osborne Road sooner really, there's tons of small hotels, guest houses and B&Bs there.
  15. Maybe they've got an allocation of rooms that they guarantee to pay the hotel for, in exchange for asking the end customer for a lower price than the rack rate. Standard practice in the industry AFAIK, though I think you tend to see it less for smaller hotels than the big/posh chains. I think.
  16. I know there's a guest house just off Gosforth High Street called the Western House that would be fairly convenient for the station (30/31 bus, about 20 minutes door-to-door) and the ground (tons of buses straight back in to the Civic Centre in less than 10 mins), but I've no idea if it's any good, if its prices are remotely competitive, if they'd have rooms free or anything else really. That a1 tourism site has them (http://www.a1tourism.com/uk/a48349.html), just a phone number though I think.
  17. See, that's why repatriating immigrants is a bad idea.
  18. I'm quite good at knocking people over.
  19. Quite why it ended up with a bunch of Newcastle United players celebrating is beyond me.
