You start sacrificing them when you're playing away at Stamford Bridge and you're at the wrong end of the table. I can't imagine there's anyone who'd have preferred us to adopt an open style of play and take another 0-5 humping just so that Chelsea could pat us on the head and say how cute we were. If we were going out to play a spoiling game against the likes of West Brom or Stoke then it'd be a different matter.
