  1. What in gods name is Trados? Translation memory software. Dead useful, especially during annual report season. Whisky is more fun though.
  2. I used to get along to a canny few Whitley Warriors games back in the day. Where else would you get to hero-worship someone called Hilton Ruggles?
  3. No but your moronic thought counts a whole lot! Always a pleasure.
  4. My parents turned 60 and celebrated 40 years since they first met in the same year, so I was able to get them various bits of 1948 - 1968 - 2008 commemorative stuff, memorabilia and random bits and pieces. That doesn't help you much though.

Funniest thing about that is that I've moved house so that's not my landline anymore Wait, wasn't it in the message about your new address? I'm sure that was why my phone used the number in the first place. Oh christ, I'm beyond confused now. Erm... happy birthday!
  6. I took the "elongated connection" bit as a challenge to be as tenuous as possible, and I'm running with it, dammit.
  7. Rode in a Sinclair C5 in close proximity to Frank Bruno. Served drinks to Greg Rusedski when he was still Canadian. Got a shout-out in a book by Tim Moore for providing information that I didn't actually provide.
  8. I quite like[d] it, but I've yet to meet anyone who'd really agree. And it's incompatible with several bits of cracked software, which is reason enough to regress to XP and wait for Microsoft's next earth-shattering mistake.
  9. Never mind - I've sorted it. Should have Googled first really. Feel free to delete this.
  10. Back for more punishment... After my recent problems, I've decided to revert from Vista to a simpler XP setup, which is now installed and basically running fine. I've also got my old Vista HD currently running as a second drive, and was hoping to be able to simply copy across the contents of My Documents etc. for use on the new system. However, I can't access the ...Users\Meenzer\ section of the old drive (which was also the Administrator account), even when logged in as Administrator on the new system - I just get a standard "... is not accessible. Access is denied" error. I presume it's protected in some way, as the directories for the older (non-Administrator) accounts are accessible, but I wouldn't have thought this would be a problem given that I'm not running Windows from the older drive. Apparently so, though. Any ideas?
  11. Paul Frost laughed at me after I spent most of a performance of a Swedish Christmas carol on "Northern Life" poking the kid next to me every time he forgot the words.

A very happy birthday to you m'dear. I won't try to SMS the greetings to you, I'll only end up sending them to your landline again.
  13. And shared a taxi to the match once with Jonathan Edwards and Kathy Secker. The Gosforth elite, man.
  14. Oh, that reminds me, I had lunch with Andreas Andersson's heavily pregnant girlfriend. That was fun.
  15. A bit. We came to a mutual agreement that my dad would have the rest because I didn't want to lose face. 'fraid not - it's standard-issue girls-with-guitars pop. Think Avril Lavigne meets Blondie's "Maria". Not my cuppa, but they'll do alright.
  16. Said it before, but Gazza bought me my first pint at the Rupali restaurant in the Bigg Market when the team were out celebrating Darren Jackson's birthday. I was 9. (Maybe I should be posting this in the alcoholism thread. ) Oh and two of my friends have written this year's Irish Eurovision entry.
  17. Let's see Louise Taylor put a positive spin on this one...
  18. I have a massive 50p left over from the payout on a speculative Irish Eurovision Final bet the other night. As such, I feel like putting it on something spectacularly improbable. Any thoughts?
  19. I suppose it's appropriate that she goes out in a blaze of publicity, it'd have been strange any other way. I hope she has a relatively painless end, her kids are well looked after and we all forget about her within a few years.
