  1. Thursday this week? Well it's Eurovision night at the Retro Bar near Charing Cross if you fancy it. And in all seriousness - it doesn't start till 8.30, so give us a shout if you fancy a brew somewhere a bit more normal before I nip off for my night of camp glee. As for further meet-ups between us soft southern lot, nowt planned, but any televised game (or London-based away match, not that there are many in the near future) is fine by me. Can't do Ipswich due to being in Lanzarote at the time, mind.
  2. I avoid Ryanair where possible, but sometimes the only airlines competing on a given route are just as bad in terms of hidden "extras" and lack of service - we looked into Aer Lingus for Gatwick-Dublin in November, say, and they were asking more for basically the same level of brutal indifference towards their customers. So we're flying Ryanair. To be fair to them, aside from one horrendous delay in Lübeck about eight years ago, I've never had a real problem with them - it's just rare to find a company where you feel unclean at the very prospect of using them.
  3. Jim would be devastated though.
  4. Pedantry hat on again, but wouldn't it be a bit difficult for the 23 non-EU members to vote for more far-right MEPs?
  5. Chance would be a fine thing. I hadn't seen the thread until now, wouldn't have done either but it came up on the front page as the top thread. "Haway" was the first thing that caught my eye. (Not bothering to click on the Newcastle forum until there's pedantry points to be won - now that is Newcastle United in 2009 for me.)
  6. I just dreamt about her the other night, actually. She was appearing on Gladiators as a last-minute stand-in for Nightshade.
  7. I'm boycotting the correct spelling of the word "boycott". (Please remember me for future translation jobs and don't hit me sorry sorry sorry )
  8. Clearly insecure that the suspiciously similarly-named Richard Herring has had a better Edinburgh than him this year.
  9. What they all said mate, glad it's good news!
  10. Well yeah, I didn't think it actually would be Badoer. But yeah, don't see why it wouldn't be Liuzzi since he has recent F1 experience and all.

    Cats

My parents have a fairly expensive pedigree cat that they basically keep under lock and key. They even have this cage thing so she can get some fresh air in the garden without actually having any semblance of freedom. It's kind of warped.
  12. The "Badoer to Force India" campaign starts here!
  13. Apparently when representatives from the South African organising committee went to Germany to discuss the preparations for 2010, they were more interested in going out on the lash than actually gleaning any information that might help them. One of them actually asked the head of the Gelsenkirchen team if he knew where they could find some cheap Polish whores. It could be an interesting summer.
  14. That could be But it could also be Embrace the moment.
  15. Aye, I do accept that really. It just seemed a bit of a cheap shot to go "oh, wait, there's been a crisis? Let's include that in our blurb too!".
  16. Rightio. Anyone who claims to have the slightest idea of what caused this "crisis" despite failing to note any of the glaringly obvious symptoms in the five years beforehand is as much of a charlatan as the next man. "Took place after the book was published" my arse.
  17. attends environmental protests dressed as a genetically modified chicken
  18. Fantabulous, old bean. Just back off a particularly good holiday. Not to mention my first game of the season last night ending in a victory Hope you're all fine and dandy? Yessir. Just moved into a new flat so things are gradually returning to normal. The future-mother-in-law is visiting this weekend but otherwise nothing too much to report.
  19. Hullo Snakey. Long time no chat. All well?
  20. Unless you are Senna Or Schumacher in Monaco qualifying. Those two were both excellent drivers though. I wouldn't trust Piquet Jr to parallel park a Renault Clio outside his front door, never mind deliberately prang a racecar.
