  1. I'm often on here at stupid o'clock, but there's far less hawt overnight action than there used to be. Trying to get some decent sleep in this week, though, as Thursday night will inevitably be an overnighter in front of t' telly. Can't resist any live programme that culminates in an endless stream of results.
  2. Can't disagree with any of that. Whisper it quietly, but I reckon she could end up one of Labour's rising stars. Whatever the next generation of Blair's Babes ends up being. (Miliband's Minions?)
  3. Then look at Eric Pickles talking for 30 seconds and realise you'll still never vote Tory.
  4. I may be a last-minute floating voter after all...
  5. South. So Bridget's count should be live on telly. (I said count.)
  6. Naah, tactical voting makes perfect sense in constituencies where the party in question can't feasibly win. I suspect most potential Lib Dem voters believe in progressive politics and will be most concerned with keeping the tories out. More importantly though, the Conservatives still believe in heriditary peerage and are against electoral reform on any terms. The Lib Dems realistically need a hung parliament and a coalition with Labour for electoral reform to happen. Tell all that to the Toontastic Labour candidate (forgets her name) who has probably been working her ass off for the last year to get elected and now finds her own bosses asking voters to vote against her. Aye, because Houghton and Sunderland South is a Lib-Con marginal. Did you actually read the article?
  7. The volcano's back, Nashville's under ten feet of water and there are mysterious terrorist plots in New York. Fate appears to be targeting next month's trip to the States quite specifically.
  8. It's been a while since we've seen an alcohol-fuelled Meenzer rant btw... Election night. Nailed on.
  9. Found a pub this afternoon with Palm Speciale on tap. Hic.
  10. Aye, we all did a Brown-style facepalm at that one.
  11. Literally everyone I've spoke to who is voting for the Tories has given me an answer about immigrants and that's it. I don't think the majority of people are aware of what they're like. I've just about resigned myself to them winning now but have two reasons to be positive - King's opinion on how much shit is going to hit the fan and a whole new generation of selfish twats are going to be reminded what the Tories are. Yep, this. From a personal perspective, a small Tory majority with a vastly improved Lib Dem position might just be the best result in the long term, even if the next few years are ugly as hell.

    Gambling

I'm sure no one will care either way, but if you're after making a bit of money on Eurovision this year, you could do worse than keep an eye on this blog for a few tips as they emerge: http://sofabet.com/ I've already got various bets on the contest adding up to about £100, and I'm nothing if not a thoroughly part-time gambler, so should probably consider stopping now...

  14. Question should be the other way round IYAM.
  15. You shouldn't be so dismissive of those "wasted votes", they're what'll win you a bunch of Lab-Con marginals. Of course, as always, if everyone who says they'd vote for the Lib Dems if they didn't think it was a wasted vote actually voted for them...
  16. Blurdy hell. I know he's only got himself to blame for squandering what he had, but still.
  17. Independent were Lib Dem last time round, so I don't see why that would change now. Interestingly, the Guardian have come out for the Lib Dems too, albeit with a tactical voting caveat (and they give Labour a decent kicking along the way): http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/20...moment-has-come
  18. An interesting read, if you can get beyond the innuendo-tastic headline.
  19. I was going to highlight individual :lol:s, but there are far too many.
  20. There's been a lot of talk about this being the first "social networking election", the year the power started to shift away from the newspapers (and particularly the tabloids), etc. etc. And you just know the printed press will get more and more militant in their approach over the next week. It'll be really interesting to see which way things shift next Thursday.
