Aye I've said for ages that a burrito shop in the town would make a killing. The way they roll them up in foil when you take them away makes them perfect hand-warmers for cold nights out too. This is where a proper (i.e. not actually authentic but good) (i.e. German) kebab shop would be ideal too. Döner dürüm - a kebab wrap that actually tastes of something and doesn't fall apart when you try to eat it? Yes please.

I think it'd be reasonable to say that during WW2 the majority of people saw the armed forces as "us" whereas now the majority of people see the armed forces as "them".

Born on 11th September 2001 apparently. A tragic life from start to finish That stat is such an irrelevance. Really though. Terribly sorry for the poor lass, it's a horrible case and I hope the nutter responsible is brought to justice, but does that mean anyone born on 6 August 1945 (say) had a tragic start to their life too?

A largely incoherent delusional fantasist? Surely not...

Aye but if you pick, it'd be Wizard of Oz/Annie/Birdcage and Pruscilla: Queen of the Desert, wouldn't it! You're trying my patience, boy. Nah, I'd likely bring along something like L.I.E. or Mysterious Skin, just for the party atmosfear.

Movie night definitely, but are you fuck getting sole film-picking rights. There'll be spunk in the tzatziki, I tell you.

Not quite megablockbuster level, but some of the big-name DVDs I've bought over the years and still never watched include Withnail & I, The Big Lebowski, Amadeus (saw it when I was a bairn, admittedly), Get Carter, Day of the Jackal, Kill Bill... hell, even West Side Story. Utter shambles basically.

Kindly never usher me unknowingly into a Rob W thread ever again. Cross-pollution is close to inevitable, sadly.

Aye he was alright. Even when he wasn't. Alex first made a habit of calling him Patrockles IIRC. Searching for it then took me to this: http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...st&p=366484

Mind, I don't know if it's just London but there's some bloody awful drivers around these days, sober or otherwise. I've lost count of the number of dunches, knocked-over traffic bollards, people running red lights and all at the junction by my place, there's something almost every time I pass by. Scary enough as a pedestrian never mind having to share a road with them

Of the ones mentioned so far, the Godfather series, Platoon, Apocalypse Now, the second and third LOTR films, Harry Potters 3-7, Scarface, Matrices 2 and 3, any Spiderman or other comic remakes including the Dark Knight, all James Bond films (other than the odd 10-20 minutes here and there), Blade Runner... suffice to say I'll be calling on someone from the film thread on here as a phone-a-friend if I ever get on Millionaire or something.

Well I'm one for Gemmill. Ain't it too too bad?

It's because he actually thinks he's winning. You'd think as a Liverpool fan he'd be used to failure by now.

Owen on, Fergie confident of victory.

Did it once, shortly after I passed my test. Just shuttling a friend home, 5-10 minutes there and back, but that's no excuse. Anyway, the extent to which I could tell my reactions were dulled was enough to put me off ever doing it again, thankfully.

Canny open game this so far.

If its the HDNL then you're in trouble. Turbo Gash. City Link, I think. Either way, resigned to it not turning up today (funnily enough ), so ho hum. I'm getting something from Amazon via City Link on Tuesday and after all the bother I had with them last month, I checked whether they were back to normal on their web site - apart from 4 or 5 depots they claim to be okay. Finally showed up yesterday via HDNL despite Amazon saying it would be City Link. Which would explain why the tracking number didn't work. Of course, this was a day after the fella called Amazon about it and they told him they'd cancel the order immediately and give him a refund. Anyway, v. happy with it. Sony Bravia, a relatively modest 32" - there's a limit to the number of inches my parlour can take.

Ah. Well, good, I can cope with that.

I love the optimistic "Counting as one of your five a day..." in that write-up. And ooh, spinach pesto... Google hunt mode engaged.

Crikey. I'm picturing this as a "desert island discs", so I'd want a bit of variety in there. Well, there'd have to be something by Waits, I suppose "Rain Dogs" is the obvious one but I'd miss his more conventional stuff and it'd be hard to do without "Blue Valentine" or "Heartattack and Vine". Then I'll have any album with an Ashkenazy recording of Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 on it. And let's take Therapy?'s "Troublegum" as the third pick, just for old time's sake.

I've got tons of baby leaf spinach in, for reasons too complicated to go into here. Anyone got any good recipe ideas? I'll do a sag aloo-type curry with it if nowt else, but something a bit more adventurous would be canny too.

Used to get a fairly steady flow of that when my fella was living in Serbia, if we're talking slivovitz/rakia type stuff. Everyone seems to have a relative whose postman's cousin's neighbour makes it in buckets under the porch out in the country or whatever. Used to come in old coke or wine bottles, whatever they had to hand, for about £2 a litre. Absolutely sodding lethal too. I miss that lost winter of 2006/07.

We really could qualify for the Europa League...

http://www.sweet-david.com/ I thought you weren't interested in looking up things like that. I'm starting to worry you might be obsessed. just replying to you. Did I ask you anything ? Perhaps you could remind me
