Working from home helps in my case, means I can do some of the shopping, prep etc. during the day and it breaks up the translation tedium.

If using any of them you need to add a tsp of sugar. Aye, makes sense. I'll tend to stir in a bit of crème fraîche or something if it won't ruin whatever it is I'm making, has the same offsetting effect. But as Alex says, it's not hard to make your own really, in fact I've got a lasagna in the oven as we speak using his patented pasta sauce recipe. Alex, PM CT asap tbh.

Jars of pasta sauce always taste strangely bitter to me, at least the tomato-based ones.
  4. Just heard Susperia's entry in the Norwegian Eurovision heats in full. I fear my prediction about a Nordic country sending a metal band is doomed to fail - the chorus is practically non-existent.
  5. I'll say it again, tennis and Eurovision's where the money's at.
  6. I reckon he might have a bit of trouble with Dolgopolov, but I'm not willing to nibble on an outright loss. There's 5/4 at Paddy Power for +3.5 sets in the match, which is a decent hedge. Might well put my money there. EDIT: 11/8 at bet365.

And I was just after a ratatouille recipe too. My hero.
  8. She's German, she probably reckons you can solve it with herbal tea.
  9. C'mon Leazes, I'm only one square away from a full house on my 70s Working Men's Club Comedian Bingo card here. Don't break the heart of a man in need!
  10. Knew it was only a matter of time before that one turned up. Leazes never has been able to cope with the idea that some people on here actually like each other.
  11. Was always going to happen. Labour losing the election will end up being the best thing that could have happened to them. Love the spin that the unexpected downturn is because of the weather, mind.
  12. Toughguymick will tell you that Bread and The Liver birds are what it's all about and are much better than Ant and Dec and Cheryl Cole and Gazza. FYP
  13. At what point does any of that lead to the conclusion that "middle-class people use humour to try and demonstrate their superiority"?

I'm sure it'd be tons better with the real deal, but I just used lamb stock cubes aye. Didn't put in as many as the good people at Oxo want you to ("1 cube to 190ml of water" gets a bit daft when you're making up 2.4 litres of the stuff), I think I used 7 or so and that was fine. You want to taste the veg as well as the stock/salt after all...
  15. Churchill was such a working class man eh, in fact obesity is exclusive to working class scum. Get off your high horse man, I was talking about the show not real life. TV people go out of their way to cast what they see as certain "types" that tick their boxes, otherwise things like this would never happen...

First thing that sprang to mind when you said "mince" was this, but then I assume your mince is beef/pork which wouldn't work as well. Still worth bookmarking anyway because it's full of win, as I believe all the young nerds are saying: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/461642/keema-with-peas
  17. All ties in nicely with the working-class comedy thread really
  18. I suppose there's Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps...
  19. Aye, the American one's definitely better at underscoring the lifestyle change thing, plus you get plenty of fatty tactical voting in the eliminations. Brits are just too nice/gormless sometimes.
  20. Follow @vivmondo on Twitter if you don't already - that's where I nicked it from
