Given your recent record on crim-spotting...........................................

Urgh, gay sex mentioned in the same thread as James Corden. Puts me right off my dinner that does.

Nowt much really (surprisingly enough). Had a bit of a set-to once with a knuckle-dragger in an Irish pub in Mainz who'd spent the preceding hours incessantly questioning a certain orange Portuguese player's sexuality in less than pleasant terms from the bar stool next to me. Certainly wouldn't call it a fight though, considering he was too shitfaced to actually land a punch. Otherwise nowt much unless SMO can recall any incidences of me getting ratty after he broke one of my Subbuteo keepers.

My industry doesn't really have managers per se (envelope-changing "project managers" at disreputable agencies don't count). There's no intermediate step between what I do as an experienced translator in my field and outright owning a translation company. Not the kind of vocation for someone who wants a clearly defined career ladder in front of them, basically.

Cheers for the reminder, I've just put in my entry for the general ballot. Won't be running it for charity if I do get in - I did a charity 10K recently enough that it'd be a bit cheeky to fleece people again - but (for precisely that reason) I'll make a point of donating to anyone else who is, yourself included.

What's the most childish thing you've ever done in your adult life

Because we were epic musical comedians when we were 17, we wrote this song about this lass in our year. And she knew about it when it was happening and actually contributed some lyrics to it herself, but once the shit hit the fan and the song started doing the rounds she pretended to know nowt about it and let her parents kick up a stink. Anyway, long story short is we acted all apologetic and defused the situation with some flowers from Katherine's on Gosforth High Street and some carefully chosen words. And then promptly got beered up the next weekend and went to her house and took an Abbey Road-style set of photos with us all doing comedy poses outside her front door. None of them came out, which pretty much sealed the FAIL of the whole thing. -
They've got back to some kind of form compared with the flabby stuff they were churning out in the first half of the 2000s, definitely. Still can't find it in myself to care about them the way I did about the Richey-era albums, although being a miserable teenage sod at the time probably helped!
-
Aye, THB would be close to my list too. Although for all the lyrics are great, it's funny hearing James have to wedge them into some kind of musical structure since he's obviously just been given this ream of non-rhyming free-form writing by Richey

Nowt wrong with Shed Seven - excellent live and pretty inoffensive generally. Aye, I jest, they had a few canny songs and seemed like decent blokes. Both of which put them above Kula Shaker... I remember an NME interview with Rick Witter where he said he never wanked till he was 17 because he just wasn't interested. Respect due for being honest, I suppose.

Still more informative than a Media Studies course.

Tend to agree with Craig, I reckon Brundle works better as a no. 2 (though I don't like Coulthard which may have something to do with it). My opinion of James Allen has never recovered from this:

Or you're just a mong. -
Aye well, I wouldn't say she was hounded out of here or anything. Just got a bit of stick for her random sense of humour, decided it wasn't the place for her after all and stepped back without making a scene and went other places instead. I'm acting like her biographer here though so I'll stop now.

Nowt to do with access either. Just helps if you're not a mong. -
Ryugyong Hotel, Pyongyang. Wiki article tells you all you need to know about it. As a forum post I once read put it, somehow the very angle of the walls is pure evil.

Oh definitely, early pissup legend! </cliquetastic>

Lou still is great. Got a raw deal from some of the Trent Posse, I'd say.

Putting the early 90s gay club soundtrack to one side, this is still one of my favourite sporting head-to-heads.
-
Legend. And the answer to your question is in your Saturday night Chinkys.

I do wonder what happened to some of the proper punching-bag kids at my school like. I was a right swot and all but I was sharp enough to get away with it and (for all this is going to sound horrible) there were a few mummy's-boys who didn't have any kind of intellect or smarts to fall back on and frankly you just think how do they not get the metaphorical shit kicked out of them every way they turn in life.

Tough is the life of the vocal lurvemaker with a stammer. "I'm g-g-gonna c-c-c-c-c-c-c-c...."

New series of American Biggest Loser starts on Tuesday on one of the Living channels, too. It's better because they're fatter.
