Doctor's prescription: more Ärzte/Farin Urlaub!

Sounds like a charming chap though. Once upon a time, childhood was about enjoying yourself.

Is there not that one along the side of platform 8 or somewhere along there? Mind it was shite anyway. Shame they cancelled the Newcastle-London City route, love flying out of there.
-
Aye, good point about the frequent flyer stuff too.

Heathrow always feels like a right faff, although my centre of gravity's SE London so I suppose it's different if you're going from somewhere central that's on the Piccadilly Line or near the Heathrow Express terminal. Plus I'd leave more than 40 minutes to be honest, even for an internal flight. On the other hand it's less time actually cooped up, plus a pre-trip pint is loads more pleasant at the airport than the station.

I think you'll find that's Pizza Serbiana.

The Portuguese being both cunts and cowards, as always

Good. That reassures me greatly.

Aagh, misread that as "soiled" for a moment

The irony of my choice way back in the mists of cyber-time is not lost on me either.

Aye, but salaried and with regular office hours rather than freelance and a master of my own destiny. Although obviously head office doesn't know if I'm nicking off to have the odd catnap as long as I answer my e-mails and meet my deadlines. What do you do Meenz, if that's not too nebby Not in the least. German-English translator, mostly tedious financial stuff that nobody actually reads. Small world. My cousin does the same job, same languages. Small enough industry that our paths might well have crossed, to be honest!

Tom Waits (or rather his people) announced an hour ago on Facebook that he's in the studio working on a new album. 7,000 "like"s and counting.

Justin Townes Earle last month, otherwise not much lined up that I can think of except Wine, Women & Song at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in June. Oh and I'm out of the country when Sufjan's around.

I had a pizza with a fried egg on it - runny yolk, as described, as it should be - at a place in central Belgrade and the waiter was insistent that the idea was a Serbian invention. I have my doubts.

Moin moin Rossay. I'm British but lived in Germany for five years or so, first in Mainz (hence the nickname) and then in Hamburg (hence the moin). Bin aber inzwischen wieder ein waschechter Inselaffe. Good to have you on board!

Just got a job in with a noon deadline tomorrow and been told I can knock off early if I get it done by then. Early weekend!

Surely that must be a foul or a pelanty or something

Happy birthday m'dear. Hope it's lovely and relaxing and involves minimal on-ward gore and maximum pampering.

I've already got about £250 floating around the various markets and most of the countries haven't even chosen yet. No obvious winner out there yet though. Although the Germans have picked something a bit different (if you can get past the dodgy title) (and the incessant adverts before the clip starts) http://www.unser-song-fuer-deutschland.tv/...tialTab=related

I'll endeavour to leave the place intact. Will be there for two sodding weeks if I get press accreditation, so should at least have some tips for pubs and grub above and beyond the S&M-Keller.
