  1. Aye. Hard not to admire raw talent like that, but it's funny how many raw talents seem determined to make it hard for you to admire them.
  2. Had him down as a potential winner from the start, mind - the young blokes often are - so I wonder if he was only in it for the money and he didn't have the motivation to keep going once they got rid of him.
  3. Tucking into a John West Tuna light lunch as we speak. "Tuna, peepers, rice, sweetcorn, kidney beans with Mild tomato salsa". Less than 200 cals and only 3g of fat and a free fork. Ideal for tomorrow's curry 'n' cake pigout
  4. Let's say it is, because I've just bought tickets for the Richard Herring "Christ On A Bike" DVD filming/Collings & Herrin Podcast double-header at the Leicester Square Theatre in May. Also going to see Carter USM in Brixton in November. Ridiculous.
  5. Aye, it's not a bad match-up sponsorship-wise. Except they're stapling it onto a show full of people who'd order three meatball marinara foot-longs with extra cheese for a "light lunch".
  6. Mind, it did undermine the show's "exercise, exercise, exercise. LAST CHANCE WORKOUT!!!1!" approach when the bloke who did his knee in the first show and couldn't move for three months ended up losing more weight than his team-mate who was boasting about being able to play rugby again but had clearly also got straight back on the pies and beer after leaving the house.
  7. I suppose there's no point in rushing him back if we consider ourselves to be largely safe from the drop. The desire for an improbable European place doesn't seem worth the risk.
  8. Never knew she was a fan of matchday threads.
  9. About two pages ago I was gearing up to say "this thread has made my fucking night, cheers lads". Then it all went a bit
  10. That's why I like my coffee like I don't like my blokes - big, strong and black. Negates the need for hamster food.

    Cooking

Not a deliberate Dr Ken copy, but I'm doing chicken breasts stuffed with mozzarella and wrapped in parma ham on a bed of roasted courgettes, tomatoes and garlic. Buttered new spuds on the side. Smashing.
  13. Decent return to the gym today, promptly offset by having friends over for drinks and takeaway. Tried to be as healthy as possible under the circumstances by having something that was mainly beef, chillies and beansprouts with minimal noodles and no gloopy, salty sauce (), plus a few glasses of red wine rather than all-night beerage, but I still feel like a lump. And on that happy note I'm going to bed. Gemmill, I'm about halfway through that diet/nutrition PDF and laughing far more than I expected to. "Wolverine juggling" indeed.

James bloody Perch?! This is a rubbish game.
  16. pint and posanda on Friday to celebrate? Might see you on Sunday yet, will be off the sauce though.
  17. Piled it on the last couple of weeks. Gym tomorrow and a toxin-free week ahead, methinks.
  18. I did a BSc in Modern Languages, peculiarly enough. Got given joint honours French and German even though I dropped French about five weeks into my final year.
