Urgh. Cheap(ish) netbook riddled with bad clusters. Have backed up everything I need and will just run the thing into the ground for unimportant stuff until it inevitably becomes properly unusable. You get what you pay for I suppose.

Could easily have been dragged into the mire if they hadn't got Sturridge on loan.

Wasn't too bad really, most of the work's done in advance and these things always get quicker the more often you try them. Might have a go at doing basmati rice on a low heat in the oven (after a quick sautee) and see if that works better.

Just tried out a few things from my latest acquisition, Madhur Jaffrey's "Curry Easy". Grilled masala salmon was lovely if surprisingly mustardy, basmati rice with lentils went claggy because my hob apparently doesn't do "very low" enough, okra with shallots and cumin turned out very nice. Not a bad first outing - shouldn't gather too much dust on the shelf.

There's your nightlife sorted.

Just got back from lunch in town. Barcelona fans had already colonised Trafalgar Square at midday and were still going when I left. Cracking atmosphere about the place.
