Somebody had better knock that out of them before they get to senior level.

And it goes to penalties

I'm sorry, I just have to fanboy your avatar for a moment. Excuse the mess. Spilt your green jelly? All over my suit and tie.

That's brilliant Jill. I am an absolute wreck at the moment so I'll attempt to take inspiration from you.

Think yourself lucky they don't pronounce it "Minz" They almost do. The irony is not lost on me.

England - Argentina in the U17 World Cup should be on Eurosport 2 from 9pm. Worth a look I reckon...

I was living in Mainz, Germany, when I chose this name. The word for the natives - "Mainzer" - is "Meenzer" in the (annoying) local dialect.

It's the people's game.

Well wor lass aint on strike today (teacher, wrong union tho) but quite a few of her colleagues are. Basically they are being asked to pay in more for a lower final ammount. "Had on" I hear you cry, "that sounds terrible". Well it would be if their pension wouldnt STILL be better than the best private sector pensions. No sympathy for em'. As LTB said, get in the real fuckin world peeps!! Every fucka else is having to make cuts and savings so why not your fuckin lot? This TBH. I got fucked over with my final salary pension about 5 years ago and then again a couple of years back. I pay more in, I'll work longer and I'll get less out of it. When I discussed it at the time with people I know working public sector, the attitude was along the lines of "tough shit, that's what you get for working in the private sector". What goes around, comes around. I've fuck all sympathy and it's time they got fucking real. Nice generalization there Craig. It's what the unions specialise in. He learned from the best.

And labour was generally a lot more manual/physical, too (which obviously isn't unconnected to the life expectancy thing). At a human level, I'd have no problem with a tiered pension age allowing people who do physically demanding jobs to retire before those of us who push buttons in an office, whether in a private company or the public sector. I suppose it'd be logistically impossible to implement in reality though.

Surely private pensions should be improved, not the other way round. I hereby call a strike where public- and private-sector workers unite to demand the moon on a stick. Nae fucker wants to be a teacher though. Well that's hardly surprising given the shit they get off Leazes.

Two posts ago: to clarify. I mean the many thousands [or more], not the 2 or 3 that some people seem to think is all it is ...... Ah, so that's what you meant when you quoted "Asians", called them "they" and talked about "integration generally". Thanks for the clarification.

Besides, it's the workshy nature of the indigenous population that makes us such an attractive destination for job-seeking immigrants in the first place. Nice of Leazes to sidetrack this thread on the very first page though, it saves us getting emotionally invested in it only for the inevitable to happen 17 pages in.

Private or public, none of us are going to get pensions worth shit anyway. Move on, nothing to see here.

Mind, for all the photoshopping is pretty gory, at least the likeness is marginally better than the Daily Express's "let's take a photo of the woman and shrivel her up into a prune" approach:

Uh-oh. Toontastic flags are gonna get burnt!

New Cross pubs are going up in the world. How polite.

Apparently "Senna" is now the most successful British-made documentary in UK cinema history after taking £2.6m at the box office. That's excellent work from the country's over-50s.

It's definately a case of the more you put in, the more you get out of it. Dogs need a hell of a lot more attention then cats, but they will reward you for that effort far more than a cat ever would. Cats couldn't give two hoots who's knee they are sleeping on, or who is feeding them (i'm generalising), so there is very little reward for the effort you put in to look after them and keep them well (in comparison to a dog). Aye, but much like your average cat, I can't be arsed.

A selfish cat is fine by me, I wouldn't have the time or patience to be a dog-owner.
