"Even" seems a bit far-fetched, the Facebook and Twitter accounts are fairly common currency (and he's now got nearly 1500 followers on Twitter despite not even actively using the medium, which is kinda unpleasant). The tax records thing is interesting, though, because it shows just how open a society Norway is - public access to that kind of thing is taken as a given, whether you're a politician, a celeb, a footballer or an ordinary right-wing nutjob.

Aye, I fancy reading the book now to be honest. It's not often that something praised by people whose opinions I trust passes me by so completely, so I'm inclined to think there must be more to it.

Swedish or remake? Swedish. Thought the first act was really good, scene-setting, hugely atmospheric, then it just... meandered.

Unquestionably the proudest day for black music since

Two thumbs down on the wind-up scale. Nice try, but no ta.

Smashing. Stuck a sneaky hundred on Bolt not cracking 9.85 tonight. That'll fund the weekend quite nicely.

Probably not, the explosions happened in Norway

I love how many people on here get so thoroughly wooshed by Kevin. Who'd have thought J69 and Craig had so much in common?

Ameliorated your post

What happened in your childhood that made you so unfunny? Do you want to talk to us about it? Why would you possibly want to encourage him?

Sympathy for Norway as a country, naturally, and very grateful to hear that the people I know over there are OK (and of course my fella would choose this long weekend to visit the place ). Bit disturbed though that Twitter and various forums seem to be turning into a game of "ooh, I've just heard that even more people have died!". Not entirely pleasant.

Conservatives out there, what's the British economy like?

Letting people buy houses they shouldn't be able to "afford" would be a mistake anyway. Look where the Blair-era housing price bubble has left us. -
I love how you feel like that somehow makes it even weirder.

Actually a little bit awesome. http://www.hans-brinker.com/

There's a decent debate about whether high-profile figures like Freddie Mercury having girlfriends and denying being HIV-positive actually set back the gay movement at a time when it needed the likes of him and Elton John as strong figureheads, considering the bad shit that was happening in the 80s AIDS-wise and all. Coming out would have meant tabloid vilification, of course, but that's what happened to Freddie in the end anyway.

If you follow the argument to its logical conclusion, recessionary Britain should scrap its army too.

Let The Right One In I was expecting more. Frankly, I was expecting anything at all. Tedious B-movie fare at best. WTF?

No wonder waterboarding seemed like an attractive pastime.

Thought that was Endurance in Japan. Endgame on Takeshi's Castle tbh. -
Ah, I see one of the reviews explains it: "His Chinaman is actually Vietnamese, but that is deliberate." That's all right then.
