  1. Aye, and one of the problems we have is that we're an attractive destination for foreign players simply because we're English in the first place, whereas the same isn't true the other way round - the money sloshing round the Premier League aside, almost everyone speaks enough English to get by and at least start integrating as soon as they arrive at a club, whereas you can't imagine many English lads finding it anywhere near as easy abroad. Good on those who do struggle through the language barrier with interpreters and crash courses (and the clubs that are willing to make it happen), but you can see why staying in England and coining it for warming the bench at a big club or playing for a Bolton instead of a Bremen (say) would be more appealing to most.

I actually quite fancy making this http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/icancook/makes/icancook-bakedblackcurrantrice/
  3. Plays centre-mid for Dalian Shide, right?
  4. middle quarter, not his feet If you're suggesting he may be of (stereo)typical Asian endowment, there's going to be a lot of disappointed fans on the #GayForCabaye hashtag.
  5. Yeah, an Indian kid doesn't have world class players to look up and aspire to. That's what football culture is about. No coincidence that the NE of England has produced so many top class footballers. It's not the biggest area in terms of population, it's about football culture. Bairns in Newcastle grow up with Gazza, Beardsley, Shearer et al to aspire to. Who did a Swede ever have to look up to before Henrik Larsson? Jonny Ekstrom?? Thomas Brolin Gunnar Nordahl, Gunnar Gren, Nils Liedholm, Lennart "Nacka" Skoglund, Agne Simonsson, Ove Kindvall, Ralf Edström...do I need to go on? I thought you knew one or two things about football. I knew Gunnar Nordahl and his exploits in Serie A, but anyone else who says they've heard of the other ones is lying. You've never heard of the Gre-No-Li trio at AC Milan? No and not one person on here has neither. Wey I have. But then I'm half-Swedish. Tonight is a tricky one.
  6. Tbh if I were an England fan I wouldn't have been happy with the pundits' analysis after the game, basically advocating that England should be a 'spoiler' team against the likes of Spain and Germany. It's basically doing what the shit teams in the PL do up against the big boys. There's the rub, I suppose. Do you accept that we are inferior to them, take the pragmatic approach like Greece did so efficiently and enjoy the success as and when it comes, or do you say fuck it, I'd rather not win than have my country be remembered as the worst ever winner of an international tournament.
  7. Why would anybody willingly board a bus in London? My lass lives in Newington Green and I needed to get to Waterloo Station. Bus to Waterloo stops right outside her flat. Fucking horrible experience. I'll walk the 30 minutes to Angel Station next time, it'd be quicker. taxi? Do you wipe your arse with tenners? They're not that pricey man Note that he doesn't actually answer the question...
  8. No relation, but there's never a bad time for this.
  9. You get some horrible types around Gosforth. Around the same time as that incident, a mysterious character known only as "Smooth Operator" gained a reputation for crashing house parties and spunking into the hair of minor local celebrities.
  10. Bored by attention-seeking fantasists on the interwebs. People, be very grateful there aren't more drama-queen gays around here. Brock, buses at rush hour are a living hell. Avoid like the plague! Although I suppose a lot of Newington Green isn't optimally served by trains (at least by North London standards).
  11. Drinking in front of the computer again?
  12. Glad we've achieved some kind of closure, either way. Now we can get on with the serious business of getting absolutely laced off Spain.
  13. An infection is not an injury it's an infection and infections reduce the effectiveness of painkillers. BTW My sister in law worked for a bloke who got a finger infection from a seemingly inocuous cut, he manned the fuck up and just got on with his work, cost him his arm and nearly his life, but you're right, infections are nowt. Wonder how he would of coped in the middle ages... He would of died.
