The German press aren't too happy. Their player scores always use the school mark system of 1-5, corresponding to A-E on exams here. But apparently they were shite enough tonight that the introduction of a 6 was necessary.

Train to Metheringham then a local bus (or a cab, depending on the timetable) on the way up, cab to Lincoln then train on the way back, most likely. Obviously driving would be a lot easier but I intend to get thoroughly smashed and I'd rather be brutally hungover on three trains than at the wheel of one car.

Woodhall Spa, apparently. Absolute cath-word to get to by public transport, but I can't be arsed with driving this weekend.

He gets a nosebleed if he ventures this far out into the wilds anyway. Which is fine by me, it's good to be able to keep him where I want him.

Aw, thanks. It'll be grand once we've got used to it. (And yes. Wine is good. New place has a wine rack built into the TV unit. I approve.)

Oh god. Just about survived the house move at the weekend, just about survived unpacking, just about survived disassembling, moving and reassembling a double bed with a pneumatic base thing (seriously, why would you?) on me tod, just about survived lugging and (worse) paying for a bunch of furniture for the new place tonight. So there's only the small matters of furniture assembly and cleaning the old place from top to toe between now and Friday, while working, and then I can finally relax. Except we're off to a wedding in Lincolnshire at the weekend. If there's red wine on the table, nee fucker else is getting anywhere near it.

You can just call them Chemnitz btw. Same way as Hamburg is actually "Hamburger SV". </geekhatoff>

Local Chinese restaurant - always empty, blatantly a front for dodgy dealings - has recently started offering a (small) buffet. They close after lunch and reopen at 6pm. Passed by the other day at about 3pm and the buffet food was standing out uncovered in the window, soaking up the rays. Appetising.

As you say, you're on your way out of town. If you can arrange a meeting in a safe haven with no telephone numbers or Facebook details exchanged and a trusted friend and/or colleague and/or family member and/or social worker on a nearby table to listen in for your safeword and/or facial expressions of creeping doom and/or cries of OH GOD NOOOO, I say go for it. Full Joker facepaint is obligatory though. It's clearly what the dad wants.

Also no throw-in towel action from Stoke away. That was my highlight of the year.
