Neither of these preclude my approach (two for £1 from the shop, cook them properly at home). I tried one of those season & shake things for chicken when they first came out and they were on half-price. Not bad at all, for that kind of thing - the meat stayed nice and juicy - but easy enough to do the same thing yourself (with much less salt) with a bit of effort.

Last's night dinner was a semi-improvised affair involving ultra-cheap dover sole from the Sainsbury's reduced aisle served in a creamy crab sauce. Very very nice, but I suspect the house may smell of fish until November.
  3. So I was just Googling to find proof that the Germans have a popular brand of supermarket vodka named after Boris Yeltsin - very sensitive, right? - only to find something even better: http://www.ebay.de/itm/BORIS-JELZIN-VODKA-WODKA-3-LITER-BAG-BOX-37-5-/120620734310 VODKA BOX!
  4. Some people's lives are that uninteresting that they keep on spending their spare time giving grief to people from the message board they've long been banned from while tweeting Joey Barton to tell him all about it. There's nowt so queer as folk.
  5. @LewisHamilton Just noticed @jensonbutton unfollowed, thats a shame. After 3 years as teammates, I thought we respected one another but clearly he doesn't.
  6. You have dangerous girlfriends, girlfriend. (Also thx for letting me munch your sloppy ricotta.)
  7. Imagining you as Peter Mannion now. (Not literally, obviously.)
  8. Canny. Just back from cheering on the better half at a fun-run in a park down the other end of the borough. Lovely middle-class moochings in the sunshine (and a bacon butty to undo all the hard work).

Mind I'm all for fancy recipes, but sometimes there's nothing better than a big bowl of spaghetti aglio e olio with lashings of parmesan.
  10. I got accused of being heterophobic the other day because Paul Sinha is my favourite one of the Chasers.
  11. Oh god aye. We'll do a Royal Hill crawl when the weather gets nice again (and there's no match to ruin the day), those beer gardens are lush in the sunshine. Plus by then you might have recovered from the exertion of the commute.
  12. Hey, Greenwich is not a football place, but once you'd suggested it I could hardly say no.
  13. Stevie knows a guesthouse on the wrong side of Lewisham...
  14. I suspect you're looking for something a bit better and a bit less populated by stoodents and backpackers, but might as well mention it anyway: http://www.generatorhostels.com/en/london/ If there's several of you so's you can get a private room, it's no worse than any of the dated guesthouses closer to KX itself really.
  15. I actually kind of miss living in shared digs. Although I'm sure I'd hate it within days if I tried it again now.
  16. Like a kid who shouts "Score!" rather than "Shoot!".
  17. Found an ideal Christmas pressie for Leazes:
  18. Urgh. I'm getting too old for midweek drinking.
