Saw him do 20-25 minutes as part of a charity gig a couple of months ago and he was basically as expected - rolled out some incredibly old material and some stuff pretty much based on that day's events that he was fumbling his way through, but he's one of the most capable fumblers you could watch. Basically charmed the pants off a very mixed audience, which was quite impressive given the bill included Jo Brand and that kid who's on Britain's Got Talent at the minute. Anyway it'll be different when he's doing a full show, obviously, but I was quite impressed at how he manages to maintain exactly his TV persona while still winning over an audience that's far from onside.

Yes, I think we get it now.

I keep reading Wonga as "Wogan".

Vilnius is great if you can get the flights. Not a huge amount to see there (though still plenty of churches, museums, castles just outside the city etc.) but food and drink are abundant and good and cheap, for now at least.

9/10, but again, largely fluked it (plus I lived near for a year so knew none of them were that). Only got #1 wrong, and I'd argue that's the least shameful one not to know.

Hard to disagree, so: @NUFCThreatLevel Hasselbaink to manage Antwerp? Good enough reason for video of our 0-5 win there.. #MikeJeffreyFans #NUFC

Aye. Unfortunately that particular ship sailed at this precise moment, if it hadn't done so already:

Oi! Leave my Lahmikins alone.

My absolute favourite song when I was 6 years old. Well, that and Midge Ure's "If I Was".

The semi-final exit at Euro 2012 was certainly seen as a disappointment, although whether they'd have been any better positioned than Italy to deal with Spain in the final is a matter of contention. Löw's current contract runs until 2014 and if Germany aren't (at least) the best-performing European team in Brazil next year then I'd be surprised if it gets renewed. But yes, on the whole there's a feeling that it's time for the current crop to prove themselves - it's getting on for two decades since they won a major tournament, after all (the poor dears).

Only marginally less bad than Andy Cole's "Outstanding".
