I'll probably duck out of the strip club part of the stag weekend I'm going on next month, but that has more obvious reasons. Maybe there'll be a nice casino next-door where I can kill some time.

I've been once because we wanted another pint somewhere and it seemed to make sense at the time. Otherwise, no - never really had an interest in the forms of gambling involved. Give me a wildly underinformed bet on an Icelandic under-21 match that I can place from the comfort of my home any day.

Make sure you're looking on Sundays btw, that seems to be the only day the charters fly to the place.

Just booked flights for Gran Canaria, the week before Christmas - cheap and cheerful bit of winter warmth (not even that bothered about the sun part of it really). Resort/accommodation recommendations always welcome!

My Facebook feed is surprisingly devoid of "why all this fuss over the royal baby when our BRAVE BOYS are DYING IN AFGHANISTAN???"-esque statuses (so far).

I'm at the Swiss end of Lake Maggiore from August 1st. I shall give you a camp wave (by which I mean a wave from our campsite). In all seriousness though, it's the Swiss national day on August 1st and apparently they do a huge firework display over the lake from Ascona, so that could be worth looking out for.
