CGDA, low to high. But shouldn't be too tricky - I used to play cello at school and could get my head (and hands) around a bass guitar as a result, not with any great competence, but the concepts were transferable to some extent.

Give over, he's just said the bairn's too alive and well, if anything.

Oh good, Jon Dahl Toivonen

He meant Sir Alex. Well, I assume as much anyway, as otherwise that's a mighty early managerial appointment.

Little bastard put in a transfer request more or less as I was still installing FM Handheld. No mercy.

Are you aware that having hoardings with the slogans "The Game Is About Glory" and "To Dare Is To Do" around your ground makes everyone else think you're a bunch of utter nancy boys?

Nahh, a curry was the first thing he made from it IIRC. Speaking of which, the (ahem) "Devil's Fennel" recipe from the Silver Spoon is ace. You take a jar of anchovies in oil and slow-fry them (with a few slugs of olive oil extra) until they've broken down, then add a few fennel bulbs chopped into wedges, some Dijon mustard and white wine vinegar. Cover and cook until the fennel's nice and tender, then add a healthy dash or five of lemon juice, stir and serve. Works lovely as a side dish to something fishy (and really takes the overpowering sharp edge off the flavour of the fennel).

Au contraire, mon cher. But if you can't head off an impasse in any other way, sometimes it's more practical to get practical.

Possibly literally, though, which has its benefits.
