  1. Acted... I see what you did there.
  2. Totally agree btw that it's massively different renting when you have a family to think about, obviously.
  3. Yeah, even Lewisham has gone mental now. We decided a while back that we're happy with renting and just moving out of London when the time comes to buy - I work from home anyway and his bosses would be theoretically happy for him to work from home too and do one day a week in London, and/or obviously he could just find something else in due course. Plus living somewhere sensibly-priced will leave plenty sloshing around for occasional trips to the big smoke to catch up with friends as and when - everyone's starting to reach that "settling down and coming out to play less often" phase in life now anyway so there's progressively less of a "you'd be missing out on everything!" feeling involved with the idea. Takes so much weight off your shoulders not feeling like you're chasing after something that keeps getting that little bit further and further away. Life's too short to mortgage yourself to the hilt just for the sake of it.
  4. Yeah, we assumed it'd go pop last time, hence sitting here still renting. Oh well. It's Dutch tulip mania writ large, but what politician is ever going to say "well, we basically need to fuck over a whole generation of homeowners to get back to any kind of sanity, sorry"?
  5. The rings mean it was three years old. #fact

That's actually a whole tub of butter, dotted with potatoes then turned out onto the plate and microwaved into submission. Less effort that way. (...I kind of want to try that now)

Judging by that plate, CT already has.
  8. Gettin, stuck a swift £25 on Rudisha not to win the 800m as the runners were lining up because I thought he looked a bit dodgy.

Drowning in basil at the minute so it's going in pretty much everything. Might have overdone it in tonight's stir-fry, but oh well, love the stuff.
  10. "We're in the same division at all" is already a fairly relevant difference to last time round.
  11. Although ironically they tend to be far more progressive than the country's politics
  12. Shared former industrial (esp. mining) heritage/working-class background aye, but in terms of culture, surroundings, national reputation/impact etc. there's no comparison. Gelsenkirchen is more of a Middlesbrough in that respect.
  13. I don't love Shawshank. It's a bit of a Sgt. Pepper in these kinds of lists.
  14. Aye, but the Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, Lord Of The Rings and Fight Club are in the IMDB top 10, so what does that tell you?
  15. I bet Toonraider would go for a bit of Iwan Thomas MBE, mind.

  17. It's a great stadium like. Only interesting thing about the city frankly.
