    Gigs 2024

Often the best kind of gig tbh. Cellar venues with sweaty walls and dubious fire exit policies are awesome.
  2. Mind, the 12-month deferral period in the rest of the UK is fairly arbitrary. But it's still quite a recent change so I suppose you've got to look at it as a move in the right direction. Shame NI isn't following, tbs, tbs.

    Gigs 2024

Just bought tickets for the Eurovision 60th anniversary show at the Hammersmith Apollo (and Therapy? at the Scala the next night ).
  4. It's almost as if you haven't read the thread
  5. Not so much worse, just less able to respond due to malnutrition.
  6. Although obviously the best popular culture usage of Ghostbusters remains:

  8. Mind I've been to see Polish jazz at the Royal Festival Hall and all sorts of nonsense (let alone the whole Eurovision thing) so I'm in no position to comment, but I'm naturally sceptical about any entertainment event that involves a dress code (whether official or "because it's what you do") at a venue that's had Kelly Clarkson the week before and a production of Voyage Of The Dawn Treader the week after or whatever. It seems like unnecessary posturing.
  9. Because I'm naturally paranoid, I thought I'd best search the board to make sure I wasn't treading on anyone's toes with that post. QED.
  10. And Andre Rieu, too. Proper classical music is one thing, but an Andre Rieu concert is like going to see a Celine Dion In Vegas tribute band or something.
  11. Having to mostly stay off the booze must help financially mind, the amount it's possible to spend on lager piss alone on a night out is terrifying, never mind stuff that might actually be nice.
  12. Finally made the trek today. £10 in, bring your own booze (or otherwise), songs to the tune of Ini Kamoze and Supergrass, parents with kids called Rufus and Hector, chants of "the referee's a hipster". Pretty much as expected.
