is getting a lot of action today.

Windows 10 made my Wham! songs play at double speed.

Ah, that kind of internet.

Anyway, I'm washing down my veggie stir-fry with a Becks Blue while watching Bayern-Hamburg and yous can all get lost.

Still saving up for the left one.

Living abroad is undoubtedly one of the reasons I signed up, although I'm an appalling nerd so I'd probably have ended up looking for a Newcastle forum eventually. I like to think the lure of Gemmill would have meant it ended up being this place whenever it was I showed up.

And save queueing at Munchies afterwards

Frozen burger and chips from the hatch in the wall though.

See also single malt with coke. Or well-done steak. That's intervention time.

In town I reckon Trillians must have been our first haunt.

The Brandling Arms in Gosforth on the weekend of my 17th birthday, mainly because it was the first one of the High Street pubs to serve all of us without suspicion. Even once we started ruining their jukebox by playing all the worst songs. #kerrazee Of course we started drinking at a younger age thanks to the marvellously lax ID policies of Bells Wines by the bus stop. Often Special Brew, based on a careful analysis of the percentage/pence ratio. The fact that booze could actually taste nice took a while to sink in.

I'm more concerned that the monkey found his impression so lifelike.

I've managed not to put too much weight back on during the past two months of stomach- then Achilles-related inactivity, still firmly on the right side of 80kg at least. Signed back up to the gym at the start of last week and slowly getting back into the habit of actually working up a sweat. I had a thoroughly unpleasant trot around Newcastle parkrun last weekend and was going to tackle the hilly local variant tomorrow but my foot's a little bit sore so I might take it easy instead. Either way, tonight after work I'm picking up the new running shoes I got fitted for earlier in the week - did a video gait analysis thing and it's a bit alarming how bad your ankle looks like it's twisting when it's not getting proper support - so hopefully it won't be long till I'm pounding the mean streets of Lewisham again.

That came up in conversation at a wedding I went to a few weeks ago. I googled it and passed it round the table but the bride's university friends didn't seem too amused.

This could make things fun, too.

Went sporadically with my old man from 1986 onwards, then later on my parents and me shared two season tickets between the three of us. Since I moved away it's mostly been away games and occasional visits to SJP when I'm up and the timing coincides (like last weekend). Factoring in cup games and the like, of which we had no shortage some seasons, my best guess is maybe 300-350 total? First home game was this: Just found the programme when I was up last month so I've brought it back with me. I reckon I must have got bored at some point because I've made up all the scores in the boxes on the back page. We won 51-0 apparently. First away games were at Nykvarn and Katrineholm on our 1988/89 pre-season tour. #soopafan
