This, more than anything, is what I'm taking away from the whole sorry affair. I'm starting to feel like I'm done with big movements and the greater good and understanding opposing views - right now I'd settle for being decent to friends and family, making things a bit nicer in my immediate neighbourhood and otherwise sitting in a comfy corner with a big pile of books for the rest of my days.

I think you just invented Tater Tots.

Really well, actually! It's a bit sweet around the edges, obviously, but no more so than a curry dish with sultanas or similar in it, and the sharpness of the rhubarb means you end up with a bit of a sweet-sour tang like in a dhansak or something. Very decent for a change. (I mashed up this and this - both allegedly from the same source but with some notable differences, e.g. one of them doesn't include any spices that'd actually make the dish hot - then improvised a bit.)

Had various things that needed to be used up, so today I made... a rhubarb and lentil curry.

Mkhitaryan to Man U is an annoyingly good signing. -
I like Keswick. Went to a very good tapas (not English ) and craft beer type place there last year. (Countryside is canny too, obviously.)

The narrative is out there, though. Genie's never getting back in the bottle now.

"What the Brexit debacle should teach us is that referendums are more often than not populist tools that allow demagogues to use the politics of resentment in a democratic way. Sure, referendums are democratic. But, they can also be deadly." http://www.historymatters.group.shef.ac.uk/brexit-lesson-yugoslavia/
