  1. "Tasting the flesh of mankind." It's remarkable.
  2. "Fine, fine, if it's a plate they want..."
  3. At least he's stuck around to play along, it's more than most of them do. I hope Ant doesn't cyber-eviscerate him.
  4. Next-door neighbours in our 1960s semi are in their 80s, so pretty quiet, and half deaf, so we never have to worry about making too much noise ourselves. Then again we do live right next to a train line, so it's swings and earmuffs.
  5. Club Tropicana, ducks are three
  6. It's the best place to be if you enjoy getting stuck into a rut, too, which is one reason we're still here. (Also country music gigs and tons of direct flight options for random city breaks in Eastern Europe, though we'll see how long the latter lasts...) We'd definitely be better off living elsewhere, no question. But that's not everything, and as long as you're aware of that I reckon it's OK. There's a lot of people in London who are basically this meme in living form though.
  7. I quite like that. Properly childish insults are the best.
  8. Apparently Pete Burns from Dead Or Alive is now the former.
  9. This was about Sofia, and having just got back I can only echo the above. Definitely a bit more money around the place nowadays, at least along the central boulevard and parks, so the eating/drinking is very good but a bit closer to western prices - still plenty of decrepit buildings and ripoff taxi drivers to ensure some local flavour though. Did a running tour that ended up at a craft beer bar (even Bulgaria has hipsters), went to a museum with all the old Communist statues laid out in a garden in the middle of a dull office complex, consumed copious amounts of espresso because they don't seem to know what a long black coffee is - all grand.
  10. I still can't believe I only got into running several years after living in Hamburg. It's basically the perfect city for it.
  11. Obesity is caused by denpressure.
  12. People on high-fat diets often smell.
  13. It's like fire off a duck's back to most of them.
  14. "Continental sounding? What like the estadio de luz, might be on to something here like marra." Glad someone got there.
  15. Mind, it's not just Greggs.
  16. Did you forget to pronounce the first two syllables as "pay no"?
