Aye, I'm doing a bit of stomping around the Lakes and Peaks this weekend so thought I should probably pop in and check that his girlfriend still exists.
-
My bad:
-
That too. Now, find us a place for some spiffing Eggs Benedict at the weekend, there's a good chap.

Straight up the ventilateur
-
Nah, it's because you're a massive snob.
-
Ventilateurs de football!
-
Aye fair enough, I didn't use it as often as that tbf. Bus was closer and cheaper anyway.
-
Mind, the one and only time I fare-dodged as a kid (I was from Gosforth) I got caught. Brutal efficiency.

Amazing. The Sun have decided to have a go at the EU in German for some reason, except they couldn't be bothered to pay a translator to do it for them (or no one would take on the job) so they've just stuck it through Google Translate instead. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/4424560/zwei-manner-stehen-im-weg-einer-brexit-deal-zugunsten-von-millionen-von-menschen-ein-cognac-getrankt-clown-und-ein-aufgeblasenen-dandy (The actual content is completely deluded too - Merkel should intervene in Brussels to get Britain a better deal - but that goes without saying.)

Matz Sels doing all right against Bayern too.

Doumbia bossing it for Sporting in the CL

“But the plans were on display…” “On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.” “That’s the display department.” “With a flashlight.” “Ah, well, the lights had probably gone.” “So had the stairs.” “But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?” “Yes, yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying 'Beware of the Leopard'.”

This is exactly the problem with letting something like this go to a referendum in the first place. The benefits of the EU are mostly technical and unsexy, making them hard to sell to the masses. The arguments for leaving are brash, broad-strokes statements that can't be contradicted in similarly simplistic terms. So guess what happens? Meanwhile, the willy-waving and fanny-flailing continues.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/sep/08/nigel-farage-backs-far-right-afd-for-historic-german-election-success I'm pretty sure Farage wasn't overly keen when Obama had his say on the referendum...

Just booked up for several of these if they count as gigs. There's nothing quite like doing high culture on the cheap.
-
Anyway, it's surprising how many people are only just cottoning on to what a sort he is. His name is Jacob Rees-Mogg ffs. How many more clues do they want?
-
Well yes, Catholicism is grim too, I get that.
-
The gay marriage thing I don't even mind so much, I get that it's a pretty new concept and not everyone's on board with it (fossil like Rees-Mogg or otherwise), but his position on abortion is just grim to hear expressed out loud.
