And then there's this. Lovely.

That Dad's Army graphic, man. Lucky we're not allowed to call Leave voters thick any more because it's detrimental to the country's healing or something.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-44966969 The lies about Turkey stand out in particular, just as they did on the literature that came through the door. "Project Fear", one might even call it.

Meanwhile, Farage is telling the US they should be watching out for the Jewish lobby rather than the Russians, and Raab is off to Brussels with a "war cry".

The OFFICIAL Transfer Rumours Thread 2018 -2019

He scored twice in the funniest football match in recorded history, so he's all right by me. -
And speaking of treason, this fella seems entirely normal and definitely not a fucking psycho. Tories, eh?
-
A traitor to her country and her party. Impressive.

You have my sympathy. Keswick even has a vegetarian hotel (...apparently this is a thing), if you can allow yourself to get over their repeated use of the word "suppliment". http://www.theheightshotel.co.uk

I'm surprised it took that long.

I see the government is planning to stockpile resources for a no-deal Brexit so that we have adequate food (or as CT calls it, "food").

Couldn't afford Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, bought Mark-Paul Gosselaar. -
And since you mentioned scran: the last time I ate in Keswick was at a pretty decent tapas and craft beer joint (I know I know, usual forum mockery incoming ) called Bar eS, just off the main burn. Recommended if you fancy a change from lakeside fish&chips and locally sourced cute baby lambs one night.

And there was me just starting to plan a weekend Lakes trip myself... From past experience, assuming you're driving, the area around Ambleside/Elterwater is a decent base - nice in itself, plenty good food/drink/amenities in Ambleside proper, plus it puts you within a reasonable drive of Coniston/Grizedale and the gentler countryside to the south, Keswick and onward to Borrowdale to the north, and the hardcore roads up into the hills depending on what you feel like doing with each day. Or just go and stay in Borrowdale itself, because it's lovely. More on the pretty side than the wild and windswept side though, so depends what you're after, but the villages from Grange along to Seatoller all have their qualities and you're not far from Keswick if you want a bit more life of an evening. If you're relying on public transport (or just fancy a drink without a drive) or if you're less bothered about your accommodation being somewhere twee and lovely then Keswick is as good a base as any, I reckon - decent buses to plenty places and some canny scran options in the town itself, albeit a bit less authentically countryside-y, obviously. (Also the Pencil Museum.) Gemmill's right though, Renton and Alex seem to spend decent chunks of their lives in the Lakes, so I want to hear what they have to say for my own planning purposes too.

Didn't even manage a mock funeral. Amateurs.

Mate, I was literally just saying Tories are bad. In an every-punchline-by-a-right-on-80s-alternative-comedian style. (Not that it's not true, obviously, before anyone starts overthinking that.)

Rees-Mogg in a Harrington jacket.

No one ever wins an election where the Tories end up as the biggest party.
-
No one 'won' the 1994 World Cup final, not really, but you don't see Roberto Baggio steering the UK towards Hard Brexit. Or something.

What is wrong with her, honestly

I KNOW God almighty. Literally.

If we're praising Rees-Mogg for his madcap religious tendencies, the Tim Farron comeback is on, baby!
