  1. Bournemouth just had a minute's silence for Armistice Day. At lunchtime on November 2nd.
  2. You might be right. I don't know, I just feel like by now there's enough of a "let's just get it done" mentality to win over enough average swing voters. Not that I've ever been one of them, so it's hard to put yourself in their place, but still.
  3. I've already bet on the Lib Dems getting <25.5 seats. I know May fucked it up from this position but I can't imagine a repeat performance.
  4. It's beyond idiotic that our electoral system is so dumb, but there we are.
  5. They should have wheeled in a lovely white doctor from Romania, watched her head explode and told her she should have been more specific, the stupid fucking cunt.
  6. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-50242562 Good lord. Imagine being one of the "nooooo!" "yeahhhhh!" holllerers during this speech and genuinely thinking you were making a positive difference to anything.
  7. Happy Hallowe'en y'all. Don't have nightmares!
  8. I went to Prague on Thursday morning, was off Twitter all weekend and haven't felt the need to go back yet. I reckon this place to distill the best/worst of what's out there will be enough until the election is over and we can happily settle in for the big NHS sell-off.
  9. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-50221856 Here we go...
  10. First time I've ever almost not hated Kay Burley.
  11. Whatever permutation of the result is closest to 51.89% for and 48.11% against is how it'll end up, just as one last delicious irony.
  12. https://archive.org/details/softwarelibrary_msdos_games?tab=collection I may never get any work done again...
  13. Parliament will be won over by the sheer crackingness of the deal.
  14. Yep. This is the thing about the impact reports and the "see, the economy hasn't crashed yet!" sneering and all - the problem has never really been the short-term impact, it's always been about the long-term managed decline that we're voluntarily entering into. Quite aside from anything else, it's so desperately unambitious.
  15. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-50044659 Dividend-tastic!

  17. I suppose it's understandable given the physical toll of each match, but if your sport needs that much space for its players to recover, maybe it's... not actually all that ideal as a sport?
  18. How long has the Rugby World Cup been going on, by the way? I know it's only been a few weeks but it feels like it's been months for a sport where the number of competent teams is barely in double figures.
  19. Does she... does she think a high horse is a good thing?
