  1. Steady on. Outdoor exercise will be banned within a day or two anyway and then this thread will be everyone's only outlet. That'll be fun.
  2. It's a tricky time, like. Most of us are just trying to muddle through, interpreting the rules as sensibly as possible in a way that works for us and navigating our way around these little Englanders who love nothing more than to bring everyone else down to their level of misery. At the same time, the wifey from across the way has been standing in the street outside our house making loud phone calls for the last two hours on and off, and my inner Stasi is definitely coming out.
  3. Oh, now they see the value of a broad shadow cabinet.
  4. I think I've only ever heard it from Stevie talking about himself.
  5. Howay Boylesports, I've waited long enough
  6. A few I've had before, several I haven't, plus the """G'n'T""" for the hell of it.
  7. Stocked up on Crodino before this all kicked off, and just took delivery of a mixed case of ≤0.5% brews from this place: https://drydrinker.com/product/pick-your-own-mixed-case-12-bottles/ To coin a phrase... that's quite a range
  8. Yeah, well we didn't concede to San Marino in the last 89 minutes and 50 seconds of any game.
  9. The idea of an Irish team qualifying for a tournament on the basis of goals scored feels like quite the novelty these days.
  10. Aye, this is worth another look since we've all got a bit of time on our hands. Taylor and his team definitely come across as wallies at times, but the qualification group was properly tough - Norway were in pot 4 and went on to be FIFA-ranked 2nd in the world by the end of 1993 - and the press are absolute lowlifes. Still should have been picking players on form though.
  11. A friend's brother went to Cheltenham and is just emerging from the worst of the virus after 16 extremely unpleasant days. Absolute madness that it went ahead when we all knew what it would mean by then.
  12. Speaking of Grigg, someone's made an... improbable edit to his Wikipedia page
  13. That's horrible Troops, wishing her (and all of you) the best.
  14. Trouble is capacity at the moment is being achieved by cancelling all non-urgent surgery and other procedures, and you can't do that indefinitely, so what constitutes "capacity" is necessarily going to be lower in the future. I do think you're right though, in that they'll be eager to ease the restrictions ASAP even if it means imposing them again soon afterwards, same as they were eager to avoid the restrictions in the first place. People need to be introduced to new concepts things slowly (for better or worse).
  15. Well, true - if enough people realise that money is only imaginary anyway...
  16. Instinctively, it feels like the world is so much more connected and efficient nowadays that it should be able to bounce back much more quickly from a short-term economic hit than it did in the 1930s, for all there undoubtedly will be a massive short-term hit. Though obviously if we reach a point when the actual structures of capitalism are being realistically questioned then all bets are off.
  17. Maybe that's exactly what the anti-gun activists need to be doing, the Stoneman Douglas kids and the Sandy Hook parents and all. Fill up the media just outright telling these people their dead relatives are fake. See if the penny drops.
  18. @trooper Fine running conditions in the big smoke today, low clouds and drizzle keeping the less hardy park-goers away. Distancing protocol being observed by all but the occasional dawdling family filling the width of the path as if it belonged to them. Subtle, low-key signage (pictured in happier weather) appears to be having the desired effect.

  20. It has received the comment it deserves:
