  1. Easy rule of thumb: Linehan's on her side, which means she's wrong.
  2. David C. Vigilante. What a name.
  3. Ah, but it was glamorous once.
  4. It would be pretty illogical for that to happen just days after they conceded defeat on schools not reopening fully until September in part because the two-metre rule is incompatible with classroom sizes. So it'll probably happen.
  5. I hushed up the fact that I live in Lewisham or they wouldn't have let me near the place.
  6. You've just reminded me that one of my more tangential celebrity encounters is having had a G&T in one of the House of Lords bars while Betty Boothroyd was sat at the next table over. Sadly I was still a massive pisshead at the time so I don't remember a great deal about it beyond that. (Much like most of the Lords really.) Defiinitely the cheapest round in London anyway.
  7. I assume, like with Gone With The Wind on HBO and the attendant fuss, some of this stuff will be returning with content "warnings" attached.
  8. Pick your favourite contradiction. The importance of exercising in the fresh air has been reiterated throughout this, but it's also fine to have mile-long queues of cars with their engines idling while they wait for their Big Mac and fries. I like that one.

    Cooking

Aye, slow-cooking onions improves anything if you can be arsed. I made an onion soup the other week that was brilliant but the onions needed an hour and a half on an ultra-low heat with fairly regular stirring. Fuck doing that again in a hurry.

    Cooking

https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2010/jun/12/chermoula-aubergine-bulgar-recipe-ottolenghi Made this at the weekend. It was really nice. That's my cooking story.
  11. I was going to say like. I get it though, there's a lot of information out there and you can't be expected to know everything, I just genuinely thought that was more common knowledge. Certainly wasn't something I was taught at school, though being the kind of kid who read atlases for fun probably helped.
  12. The guy Rhodesia was named after? Surely not
  13. And there were more white footballers than black footballers. Interesting that.
  14. I've now been out running a couple of times with a friend and his kids and obviously I don't know what they're up to otherwise, but I figure you've got to draw the line somewhere. They're sensible people but I'd be amazed if everyone from a house of rambunctious boys has stayed completely distanced from everyone else throughout this. But again, it's about minimising risk in a way that preserves your sanity, not eliminating risk altogether, because the latter isn't possible anyway. And the mental health boost I get from it is worth it for me. It's a very personal decision though, it has to be ultimately.
  15. Nicely done. You have a good one too. Maybe by seeing your family or friends like you're allowed to now.
  16. And The Verve are shite.
  17. Maybe he keeps calling them scum
  18. Like pretty much everything they say, it'll never actually happen when push comes to shove.
