In a similar vein, technically I should rebook my train ticket and go back to London today before the restrictions come in, since I'm not meant to be staying with my parents now. But given that I've already been doing so for three days and literally nothing will be changing in terms of the risk we do or don't pose to each other or to others, we're also going to apply the Barnard Castle Exemption, funnily enough.

Yesterday we actually signed some players, parkrun was announced as returning next month, and I bought train tickets to go and see the family next week and hopefully enjoy some emptier termtime beaches too, à la the photo above. So I'm afraid that pretty much guarantees a nationwide lockdown, seven days of solid rain, and a Chinese nuclear strike in retaliation for Quiff's comments in the Covid thread. You're welcome.
