Apparently this morning's Lörracher Zeitung is reporting Klose as saying "Ich finden Neuschloß wery gut, ja!". Transfer's in the bag tbh.
-
Make it up as you go along tbh. I'm surprised the fella on other board didn't get as far as "he's black, he's broon, he's not from Cameroon"...

Manchester City at home, October 1986, won 3-1 including goals from Gazza and the mighty Tony C. First away games were the friendlies against Nykvarn and Katrineholm in 1988. Soopafansson tbh.

No-one else would fit on your side anyway, etc.

I think those are old quotes.

Please dont elaborate 183514 Harrrrrrrrrder! Harrrrrrrrrder! ....but anyway.

The word "arrrrrrse" sounds great in a West Country accent though.

Aye, you can just about get Five Live on medium wave in northern Germany on a decent day, albeit through a hell of a lot of fuzz and interference - I remember listening to a number of our 1999/00 matches that way (Roma, Birmingham, Tranmere... what a treat ).

Bank holiday weekend coming up, at least. I think? Still working on German time tbh.

Spoiled only by David Coleman's death rattle croak. How did the BBC justify keeping him on for so long?

All of which discussion took me to YouTube, where there's a great montage of the Lewis/Powell battle from the 1991 Worlds. I'd forgotten just how huge Lewis's series of jumps was that day, wind-assisted or otherwise, and Powell's joy at beating the cocky fucker (and Beamon in the process) is still fantastic to watch

Is from the Phantom Tollbooth. 182832 Douglas Adams uses something very similar in one of the Hitchhiker books, too... "The spaceship hovered in the air in much the same way a brick doesn't", or suchlike. 182872 That's who I thought of. A long with the Oasis lyrics "Slowly walking down the hall, Faster than a cannonball", which admittedly is a slightly different metaphor.... 182877 In that it's pseudo-philosophical wank for 6th formers who think they're deep, you mean?

I know a few people who've studied there and basically speak well of the place.

I'd only end up sticking on some Sigur Rós and making the batteries commit suicide.

Ended up watching John Tucker Must Die on Friday night. I am so spectacularly under the thumb. They must've known what the audience demographic would be, because the trailers were for things like You, Me and Dupree (seriously, "Two's company. Dupree's a crowd." What the fuck?), Little Man and three more globs of Hollywood spaff so god-awful that my brain has already decided to purge their memory. Or maybe they were just trying to make the main feature look better. It didn't work.

Had the misfortune of seeing him recently at a stoodent comedy night (which was unfortunate enough in the first place, I suppose). He turned up about an hour late and reeled off a grumpy 15-minute set of what effectively amounted to "right, I'll play a riff/impersonate a silly voice and you have to guess who it is", ending with a song about how religion is quite nasty sometimes and a version of Robbie Williams' "Angels" that concluded "He's shagging fellas instead". Groundbreaking. 180226 Did he do the thing with the queen mother's head in the newspaper, and the songs about religion and war? Because he did that in 2002! 180624 Strangely enough..... Good, now I have even more reasons to dislike the big-faced twat.
