If I'm LBT you are Deano.

Don't know much about his Lyon career tbh, I was like too young even for that I'm probably not the only one on this forum who doesn't know much about how he did in Lyon though.... however what he does in this club, here and now is what counts for me

I do believe he lacks the team-vision for setting up others in the way Marv does... or are you gonna prove me otherwise, my smelly irish friend? I didn't say that he lacked vision either, he has good vision for creating excellent individual performances, but maybe just not as focused on using it for team purposes and setting up others.

girls dont have humour when their not drunk.

he goes to the left by-line when he wants to cross, even when he plays from his wide-right position. anyways whether his vision is the best in the squad or if Marv's better is discussable. I need to see both of them playing at their best in the same season first.

Our creative players: Sissoko is a brutal train who likes everything to go fast fast forward, his advantage is when he can run from deep centre and carry the ball using his fast-paced technique and have someone running along with him so he can spray it on the sides. Marv is the player who has a more of a chess-like vision, then dribbles himself to a position where he can make those unpredictable passes happen finding the correct team-mate who can just tap it in. Cabaye is a hard-working all-rounder who likes a bit of everything but mostly favors the stationary long-passing either low or high depending on the opening and space. Anita is the more defensive-minded version of Cabaye I guess. Ben-Arfa is like Marv in flair and dribble but way more skilled, but maybe not so good a vision for where to lay his passes, so that's why he likes do to things individually often using much longer time dribbling than Marv so he can get into goal-scoring position for himself or get to the by-line and cross a nice ball.

I think as long as the contact is as minimal as it shows, Walters could've easily stood on his feet if he wanted to and kept doing the shite he was trying to, but he goes for the penalty instead and falls over, fair and square, unlucky for Tiote for helping Walters make it look like it was bad tackle. However, Tiote should've not panicked like that...
-
His work-rate and energy is faultless, but that's what we need deeper on the field not in the typical Marveaux position.
-
I choose to not let that mistake ruin his overall performance, as I think it was just unlucky for him tbh. He shouldn't have played from start though since we need far more flaired players than him to smash in the goals, but's that another story.
-
Lol, CT I always thought you had devoted your life to having Marv as the regular holder of that position. Cabaye is our best deep-lying creative player, he's not gonna to be utilized to his fullest if he plays AMC since he also has strong defensive capabilities others don't have. He's not the dribble flair guy either, and his defensive splitting balls he can easily do from deeper with the passing skills he have. ...Right now he seems to have been instructed to cross more high balls though, something which is not working in anyones favor tbh.
-
You don't understand shit. I asked Tom who Cisse might prefer to have behind him as the AMC. What I meant is that Cab isn't that unpredictable (for the opponent), flairy player like Ben Arfa, Marv or even Sissoko (although he lacks a bit vision), who can carve through defending players with ball in feet to find that spot where he could send that magic pass from. Not saying Cabaye wouldn't do a job there though, but compared to the players we got for that position he just fits better deep-lying thats all.
-
As the behind-the-striker dude? Nah...Cabaye is far to predictable to be that guy.
-
Jonas was spending most of his time acting as reserve full-back on both sides, is that really all Pards expects him to do...? Should've been taken off instead of Gouffran.
-
Tiote is wrong to start the "slide", but it actually looks more like he just falls towards Walters in reflex because he was nutmegged, but he's clearly not gonna tackle hard. The contact is minimal as Tiote regrets his "fall" towards Walters and tries to get his legs out of Walters way, then you see Walters purposely forcing himself off the ground and falls. Thats my opinion.
-
Walters jumps up and dives today, looking at the repeat over and over and there is clearly minimal contact between him and Tiote. The only problem is that it looks stupid... http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xy3hia_n2-1s-www-fasthighlights-com_sport?start=1#.UT0NRBycd8E Had I been the ref and seen this vid before deciding on penalty, I wouldn't have given it.

Don't go overboard now, its fairly decent, not great
-
Who do you think Cisse would prefer of those two as his "behind-man", in terms of chances created for him as a striker?
-
It's good to have somebody who's not scared of the ball, but who also has a decent amount of end products. Sissoko was working for five horses today, but his style is so robust he can't care enough for vision and precision to aim a thread through a defense like Stoke's. That's why he's a box-to-box player and not a creative wizard like Marv and Ben-Arfa, and should've played deeper down with Cab today, perhaps instead of Tiote till we had scored a fair amount of goals utilizing Marv's vision. Its easy to say in hindsight, but I do believe that should've been Pards plan today, then subbing Marv off for Tiote when he got tired.
-
It's hard to notice these things when the players off-ball attitude mostly are off-screen but still, we don't know how tactics are being prepared, and if some players are being set to track back and others not. In my opinion it was a good trade-off today, and that goal had might not happened if he was too focused on tracking back and getting tired, but thats my silly opinion... he's a good attacking player, and thats it, maybe he's just good enough to come off the bench, I dont know, but he creates stuff when he plays in the attacking centre and thats why I like him...
-
Thats why we should quit having far wide players upfront! We got plenty of firepower to spend in the centre of midfield and behind strikers, and plenty of players mastering those positions getting wasted - on the men we set to play wide who contributes with little or nothing to scoring goals. It may have worked with Demba Ba, because he was a tall bastard who could turn shit into gold, but definitely not now.
-
Good enough today though.
-
mong. we played Stoke, not Barcelona, they weren't really trying to attack us, I didnt really see how it was necessary to exhaust our attacking players on the shit they brought up to our goal area. and have to agree with the haters, marveaux is not very physically gifted, when he can contribute its when he has the ball in his feet.

The Road To Amsterdam ArenA (UEFA Europa League 2013) - THE END
Aeris replied to Aeris's topic in Newcastle Forum
I'm serious, I don't believe in wingers in our team anymore. We should just play everything through the middle, or from our backs. Simpson is shite that's why I'd rather see Anita or Jonas, or Santon take his place.
