Like you say Chez, its not likely. I agree. But my point is that given the circumstances of how he came here and the fact that he came on a free, I wouldnt COMPLETELY rule it out. It would be a slip-up on our part no doubt. But then again, would anyone have guessed that Demba would be this good?

That second one is gold. Might have something to do with centuries of slave labour, genocide, aparthheid and lynching, but what the hell. Get over it.

Muchas gracias! :)Think the club would be pretty eager to put this one to bed if there's no substance to it. Pardew could have easily discussed/dismissed it this morning alongside his 'we can win the cup' statement. Worrying stuff. Think only one of the richer clubs could afford the risk of a £10m fee for him, bit wary of Liverpool? It's all been made up from a speculative article from Karen Brady where she discussed a clause in his West Ham contract. Everything else has been guesswork. Certainly hope so. But I was thinking about this a bit last night.Ba came here on a free so that obviously puts him and his agent in a strong negotiating position. He's already seen a move collapse to Stoke earlier in his career because of the risk involved in a high transfer fee. So bearing that in mind, Ba and agent will have had to be mindful that if he plays well here which obviously he is, it'd be impossible for him to get a 'dream move' without a low release clause. Without a low release clause, a club has to meet our valuation - which would be in excess of £20m given his form. I don't think any club would take that kind of punt on him, given his supposed knee condition. A release clause would be his only ticket to one of Europe's elite, I just hope Ba+agent haven't been that astute in negotiations, but given his previous (the remarkable one at West Ham) I wouldn't be surprised at all. Pretty much what I was thinking too, ended up with me being called a clueless prick by Tom :\ Oh wait, that was for the 3-0 DVD!

A knee made of chocolate and statements from doctors and managers that anyone signing him would be "fucking mental" ? Im just trying to provide some context here Tom, not argue. You dont have to tell me that his knee problem is blown out of proportions, thats preaching to the choir.
-
In his 'crock' season he still played 20 odd games. That's the worst it's been for him. Said it tongue in cheek Tom. Failed medicals, "ticking time bomb knee" etc.. Im just saying. Its not totally unrealistic that a 27 year old African player coming on a free, with an injury history long as deadmans cock - upon massive pressure from his agents - gets a 10 million release clause. Thats still 400% profit if someone bites and how good can be be coming on a free right? Certainly within the realms of possibility.

Finger on the pulse there deaders
-
a 27 year old crock coming for free on reasonable wages in return for a 10 million clause? Its not as unlikely as you might think.
-
If he stays fit until summer and bangs in another 10 goals, for 10 million there isnt a single club in the world who wouldnt be interested. And im including Barcelona and Real Madrid there.
-
What if he does but it wasnt known until some bitter West Ham in-the-know let the details of his contract out ? It could be ( and probably is the case) that he is very happy here and was in no hurry to let that detail be known through his agent. Its still not gonna stop big clubs from waving contract offers in front of him now is it. The whole "he would be gone 5 days ago" arguement rests on the premise that that particular clause was a wide-known fact when the window opened the 1st. Are the details of such contracts common knowledge these days?

Yes they did, its taken from the official norwegian supporterclub forum. Fans chanting racist remarks while wearing the "justice for suarez" shirt wasnt quite what kenny had in mind, was it
-
More like he has had his credit card cut in two and thrown into the fireplace by Levi, he`s in charge of the big transfers now.
-
As much as I dislike Harry, its our fault for not adressing this before the transfer window opened. We gave Carroll a new contract - what - 3 months after his first one after he started banging em in, same should have been done with Ba. Ashley probably didnt reckon - given his dodgy knee history - anyone would consider meeting that release clause. However with the amount of goals he bangs in, the bigger clubs are probably on red alert now. Fingers crossed but I can see all the top clubs running the door down like its black friday to meet that release clause.

If the £10M Ba release clause is correct I bet Ashley and Llambias are kicking themselves – another lesson learnt. Ba and his agent are obviously smart cookies. Ba knows he is class and after his Stoke move fell through – £9M remember the fee agreed – he got a free transfer release clause if West Ham got relegated. Only us and Everton were seriously interested and we got him for just £40K a week – however in return for accepting just £40K Ba has negotiated a release clause of £10M. I go back to it, Ba knows he is class and he has very cleverly put himself in the driving seat. If there are no other clauses other than a club offering £10M we will have to offer him BIG money to stay. Simple as. Nobody, no fan, no manager, expected Ba to score 15 by the first week of January. Newcastle did a great deal to get him but Ba has done a great bit of business himself. It’s all down now to how much we will pay him, who comes in and whether he wants to stay. One thing is for certain – if the release clause of £10M is true – bids will DEFINITELY come in

When Demba Ba is not enough, and Colleen is feeling naughty, she lies back and shuts her eyes and thinks of Cheick Tiote!!!

From a Norwegian Liverpool forum : "Det er helt klart at media kjører en kampanje mot vår klubb nå, og det er trist fordi Liverpool er "gentlemannsklubben" fremfor noen" Translated: " Its blatantly obvious that the media is running a campaign against our club now, which is sad really because Liverpool is by a fair margin the "Gentlemans fotball club" of english fotball. Genuine question: Is this really the opinion of Joe everyday supporter in England?

Watching the DVD will be like a new signing -
Improved from what Its the EXACT same setup he has played for the past 8 matches. Yet for some reason every player was on fire for this match, and it worked. From a phychological point of view he has obviously done something that worked, tactically it looked identical to previous matches. Credit where its due though: Biggest win I`ve ever experienced as a fan.

A release clause at anything below 15 mill is going to be met tbh.. even with a dodgy knee.

Him going to city would be epic.
