On current form ( while in england) and current position 15 million sounds about right. Should he develop into the player I am hoping he will ( which includes a slightly different role in the centre mid) then 25 million would be possible. That being said, modric went for 27 to real madrid and I dont think Cabaye will ever be as good as him.
-
If you are going to quote my posts at least bother reading them. Made it perfectly clear. 15 million current value, 25 million potential value ( should he be able to replicate his 15 goal a season Lille form when he was deployed in a more advanced position)
-
Read what I wrote again then. I was referring to his value only.

Season panned out beyond expectations, will always be people in both camps. Not Pardews biggest fan but appreciate and respect his man-management skills. Lets hope we are a bit more attack-minded this season, I wont be returning any mud-flinging as MF has told me to behave or else! Back on topic! -
Yep. Cant say It bothers me though, Chelsea are a bunch of absolute cunts.

He has said his biggest idol is Essien ( or what essien used to be or whatever). Pretty obvious he tries to mimic him, do agree with you ant. Should just destroy and keep it simple, we have better ball carriers than him .

If thats your take on my view on our current side, so be it. Im sorry you feel that way. I have always liked Dempsey and at 29 I feel like his best seasons could still be ahead of him. Time will tell, Id be over the moon if we signed him. -

Interesting how everyone seems to be writing off Dempsey before he has even kicked a ball RTG`esque -
Only seen 2-3 games of M`vila - but he looks better than Tiote to me from what I saw. Cabaye is good but he is not irreplacable in his current position. As long as we deploy him as deep as we do with little time for clever passes he will always be a fitter guthrie with better vision, sadly. An advanced Cabaye given freer reigns though, would cost 25 mill to upgrade on.

Are you guys real life mates? Not rare to see that very sentence whenever Ant is talking to J69 -
Cabayes options include either passing to ben arfa or - due to the massive gap between our overrun midfield and strikeforce - hoy it long which admittely does work sometimes. Could pass it to jonas too but he wont taking any players on usually... When I refer to ben arfa as the fulcrum I mean the architect, which admittedly is partly due to the fact that thats what I want and think he should be, dragging other players with him and providing link up with himself through 1-2`s and bridge the gap to cisse and ba. Last season when we brought ben arfa on it transformed the side, instantly playing it more to the ground and having other players looking for him and giving him the ball - just like in school. You give the ball to the best player I just hope the squad wont suffer as we look through the market with a microscope to find cracking deals.

10-15 goals for 2-3 years turning into 15 goals for 4 years - classic forum quoting there Dempsey scored what - 23 this year? Hardly a stretch to suggest he could average half for the next 2 seasons, injuries permitting. Age is a fickle thing though, Di Natale is turning 38 and is banging them in for Udinese, started to blossom in his 30s -
Somewhere between not spending at all and Boumsong/Luque/Owen spending is where we should be. Ive said it before but I`ll say it again - there was nothing wrong with the money Fat Fred&co spent, the fault was that they spent it on the wrong type of players. With the scouting network proven to be a success, what we should have done this summer was up the spending a bit to reflect our new Top-5 position. Not mindless spending but adressing the issues, namely getting simpson, williamson and Ryan Taylor further away from the starting 11 and getting a third CB to battle it out with steven taylor. We havent done that and as such we risk sliding down the table to 8-9th again. We will see how Mikes Gamble pans out this time. Genuinly happy to eat my words if wrong, Im just a bit worried.

Sadly I dont think Pardew has much of a say on those matters, he is just ruffling his feathers a bit in the press when it comes to transfers as anything else would make him look like a first team coach and not a manager.. As for being the creative fulcrum of the whole team, I think that honour really belongs to ben arfa nowadays. Cabaye CAN be that player for us, but not the way he is used atm. He is too busy snapping at heels..
-
. Not for Lille, and not for france. He has a good shot on him and good vision too.
-
Yep, even though he is being utilised - in my opinion - too much as a terrier and enough not in an advanced position spraying passes and 25 yard belters
-
No, simply because I dont accept the premise that cabaye would have to go to finance those players. Which is what infuriates me. AC is a bit of a meh for me, especially with the prices quoted. Douglas is completely unproven and could be either a flop or success, and debauchy should have been tied up a month ago by simply agreeing a price whether that was 6 million pounds or 7.

Well he could very well be at his peak for this season and the following 2-3 seasons at which point he would have been a fantastic buy. If he delivers 10-15 goals a season thats a great purchase. Why not Sunderland? Well Fulham is a better team for starters, that being said Sunderland have shown ambition this summer with a few shrewd signings and spending proper money. If clubs around us keep spending like this and we dont adress issues and strengthen, we could very well tumble back to midtable within a few windows really. We needed a fullback and a CB as well as a pacey striker this window. We havent bought anyone aside from a backup CM. -

Doe`s it matter how you spell things -
15 milion sounds about right. Slightly overrated in my opinion. If we could get M`vila for that amount I wouldnt think twice. Tabbing out of FM for a moment and returning to real life, I would never want us to lose anyone - simply because I dont trust Mike and Dekka to replace them.
