I agree that regarding Enrique wanting to leave is nothing we can do about, however the more interesting question is why he wanted to leave in the first place. I suspect if we kept Carroll and spent a little more money we would still have him. HOWEVER Its a completely irrelevant question that will bear no fruits seeing as done is done and nothing will bring him back to us. Rather we focus on issues that are present and of significance. The new contract probably is a bit of both tbh. Hes a decent player who does a job for us, and he is not too old to be sold for a fistful of pounds next summer should we want someone - whisper it - with better crossing/end-product. I dont see the problem with admitting its for both fotballing and business-reasons that he has been handed a new contract. Does it have to be either? Most clubs today are run like this, to a different degree of cource. We are perhaps a bit heavy on the business-side of things, but thats a debate for another day.
