Fuck off, twice. What is this, Conquest of Paradise I was waiting for a followup of something like " and they had never seen a person of african-american desecent until Kevin Keegan brought in players from exotic lands of coconuts and pineapple. The simple and hard-working coal miners of Newcastle can hardly read or write, but that doesnt stop them from storming the gates before every game, beer in hand and shovel in the other"

You couldnt make it up Well It beats Kuqi I guess, and would be worth it just for the lulz...

Of cource Spain of today would beat brazil of 1970. Probably 10-0 too... Even CabayeAyes beloved Ireland would probably beat Brazil of 40 years ago ( back when J69 was a mere teenager and Leazesmag a freshly baked grandfather)....

At the moment ending up like Bucktooth Crouchey seems the most likely scenario if he keeps the clubbin`up.

yeye, why dont you give me your opinion about Carroll in Norwegian then big shites.

Honestly, Ba and Carroll up front would be frightening. Could well fire us into europe and beyond.

Fuck the accountant talk, I`d give him a Hero`s welcome. He was the victim/beneficiary of a massive american intent splash, cant blame him for tripling his wages. Still, hes a geordie through and through and I`d love him back. Epic player on his day.

Rationally we should be happy tottenham arsenal and Liverpool dont drop points. They will end up above us regardless, we fight for 6th and 7th against villa, stoke, fulham, everton... Emotionally is another issue alltogether..

They are too good individually for us to park the bus. Every single one of their attacking players are capable of going past a couple of ours. Its basically a carte blanche to "do something creative". Im sure quite a few in their line-up wont mind being asked... We have so far gotten by due to the inefficiency of the other teams... Im not sure City will squander their chances the same way... I think we need to bring the game to them. -
Would you have taken 7th place right now?

Relegation form from now on ( 1 point a game average) will see us on 52 points, which would challenge for a europe spot ( seeing as nearly all the midtable-teams have considerably less points now compared to last season). Can we average a point a game for the next 27 games? if so we are in the mid-50s. Thats 7th spot. I have to rub my eyes looking at those stats... -

We need to spend the warchest in the january window for a second wind imo. If we can do that, maybe a top5-6 run is possible. cutprice-january window ( most likely scenario) form will dip and 7th will be the best we can hope for. -

Looking at Liverpools games, appears to me that they are steamrolling everyone gamewise but just cant seem to score. That sort of dominance will after a while result in a shitload of points. and tbh its not Daglish`s fault the team has 10 crossbars every game and carroll misses 100% sitters. We might be more effective, but Liverpool looks a far more dominant side than us tbh.. I dont like it any more than you do, but unless suarez picks up an injury they will be sailing past us for the fun of it. -
captai van persie. 24 points

Would you? For me, it would represent magnificent progress from last season. Could we finish higher? Well yes...its possible, but not likely.. scratch that, its highly unlikely. We dont have the bench to pull it off basically. I cant see us break into the top-6 while being run on a shoestring. To put it into perspective, We would need to have players like Ba, Steven Taylor and Cabaye on the bench for times when the injuries set in. Which we dont. So, personally, I Wouldnt get too greedy given our current league position. 7th would be fantastic.

Ashley has had an olive branch stretched out to him in terms of getting us back into europe. Interesting times are ahead as we are witness as to what our club owner will do to extend our fantasy run with some canny signings. Should we continue to produce decent results and arrive at christmas with - say - 30 to 35 points, actions taken in order to prepare us for a long and gruelling spring season will decide the outcome of our 2011/2012 season. Should we continue with the cut-price signings done this summer, its officially verified that FMA could care less about league position and more about using us a milking cow for his other businesses - as long as we stay up. Will our fantastic start be an incentive to spend sweet Fuck all and rather sell a few players in january for a profit, seeing as our points already see us safe, or buy a few defenders and a top quality striker to continue the push? I would argue Ashley deserves fuck all credit for our run, all he did was spend absolutely fucking nothing this summer and sell some dead weight and want-aways, but our newfound success will help to highlight our number one concern - what are Ashleys true intentions with this club? There are no more excuses to make, summer window ending up as a massive disappointment after 8 months of preparing and a 50 million pound warchest. 6 months on and with an unreal first half to the season, people wondering about the owner of this club need to look no further than the actions taken in the transfer market of january 2012. We have already cemented the foundation for a return to greatness and as a genuine top flight club, will the owner see the window of opportunity and flex some muscles to have a go - or lean back with a cigar and sell off some "assets"? I would be delighted if the first scenario be the case - but sadly not surprised if the latter happened.

I told some lads on the norwegian toon forum a while ago that amongst the coaches word was that Ben Arfa wasnt quite firing on all cylinders ( yet). Noone is a bigger fan of the hype than me, but from what I have seen so far, bench seems the appropriate position for him until he gets back to speed. He holds on to the ball for too long, indecisive, seems to have lost a bit of pace and vision etc... Until/if he gets that back, he would be a starter, for now he should be happy with coming off the bench for the odd 20 minutes or so.. -
