  1. I'm a few years older and worse for wear - not helped by supporting the Toon! It doesn't get any easier does it?!
  2. It's got to be a concern whether he'll ever be fully right after that injury. Fair play to the club for taking the risk and signing him, but a bad leg break like that has ruined careers before. Still, I assume they've had medical advice and they must be optimistic.
  3. Good luck to Torquay Toonraider! (We used to talk on another forum years ago. Stevie Ross.)
  4. We have much greater appeal than man city before they were bought out. Bigger stadium, more fans (One club city) shame we had not long been bought out Don't agree. The "Manchester" name has currency in the global football world that Newcastle doesn't.
  5. Don't think we'd get Bendtner (or Sturridge). They're still young, have ambitions of CL football and all that. We've got to face it, we are a basket case of a club. CL is years away for us - if ever again. We'd need new owners, new management, a completely new playing group. We don't have the appeal of a Chelsea or a Liverpool or one of the Manc teams, so no mega billionaire is going to buy us and turn it around overnight. Nae lads, second raters, has beens and long shots are the grist for our mill. Our "good times" have been and gone. Did you enjoy them, like?
  6. That's basically what I'm saying. Coloccini isn't a dominant CB. He's more of a second fiddle type. That doesn't mean he isn't a class player though. He's a sweeper really though (or the modern equivalent). That's as may be, but to get back to the topic, I think we need a better player than Steven Taylor to be our dominant CB. Overall, with Taylor, Coloccini and Williamson, CB is a weak part of our team.

  8. I think Coloccini is. Coloccini is probably the best of our CB's, but he'd only be a squad player with the better teams. His good days are very good, but his average days are very average...
  9. He's not a top quality PL centre-back, never will be. None of our centre-backs are top quality, it should be the second priority after a centre-forward in the transfer market.
