If Sunderland are looking to him as their main striking threat then they are in deep trouble. At a push, I would say he could do a job in the Championship, but to me he looks all but finished.
-
Wasn't a lot of booing, but it was noticeable. Not sure who they were booing though. Putting things into perspective, I'm pleased with 4 points from our first two games.
-
Villa made it hard for us, and tbf they probably should have knicked it. I'm pleased with our start to the season, it's going to take a while but everyone just has to be patient with the new set-up.

Brilliant. He has a bit of room for improvement, but if he keeps his head down he'll be fantastic for this football club and the main catalyst for any success Allardyce can hope to have.
-
Always respected Keane for speaking his mind and generally I agree with a lot of what he has to say. It's getting harder to attract players to the North-East as a lot of foreigners like the looks of London.

I don't think we really need to sign a keeper like Amelia. He'd be expecting to go straight into the team and wouldn't be willing to play second fiddle to Shay Given like Harper has done all these years.
-
I can see where Carragher is coming from. He's not getting any younger and in recent years, retiring from international football has helped the likes of Shearer and Scholes to play for a few extra years. He's never going to get a permanent place in the centre of defence. If we didnt have a few injury worries right now, McClaren wouldn't even be batting an eyelid.
-
I'll be very sorry to see him go because I still feel he can offer us a lot in the coming season.
-
Good luck to him, hope he takes advantage and comes back a better player mentally.
-
Yepes mustn't feel confident in passing a thorough medical. If he didn't think anything would be wrong, then he'd be full of confidence to come over here and let us run the rule over him. Something's amiss there.
-
"It's nice to have that experience of someone who can go in and Steve (McClaren) will know can do that job" "The powerful hit-man has 43 caps and five goals for his country" Hmmm.. right haha I'm sure McClaren would sooner call up Bent, Ashton, Johnson.
-
Would rather he played no part against Villa unless we're struggling. I'm wary about rushing players back and I simply don't think he has got enough football under his belt to just jump straight back into the first team. Maybe another reserves game for him and then I'd be more confident in him.

£1.5m is a fair price. Wouldn't mind him here at all.

2-0 Newcastle. Smudge and Martins.
-
Damn, we missed the boat there, come on Sam pull your finger out!
-
I thought he'd be alright for them, getting away from the pressures of the goldfish bowl up here Can't help but feel extremely happy that he is no longer a Newcastle player. He was here far too long without improving. Every season there was hope that he might put his idiotic defending behind him only to be disappointed by about the 3rd match in. It's good to have a manager who isn't afraid to clear out the trash.

During the Carling Cup, Mikel had a short sleeved shirt, then one of those blue body warmer things that cling to your skin. Was quite a nice day for the CC too.
-
He's impressed me with his recent performances, best of luck to him.

Very good result, chuffed to bits with this. Came in from the shop and stuck the radio on half expecting it to be 1-0 Bolton or 0-0, good feeling to find out we're 3-0 up Second half sounded like we lost the plot a bit and Bolton sounded like they were dominating, encouraging that we can see results out though and we didn't self destuct after Anelka's goal.
-
Last time I remember us having Game of the Day was when we beat Portsmouth and Shearer got his record goal. Probably has been one after that though.
-
Sort out his off-the-field antics and we'll have a quality player on our books. Easier said than done though.
-
Robinho's was taking 4 hours after Madrid won La Liga Lampard! Haha
-
I'm looking forward to seeing him play, he sounds like he'll fit right into the Premiership, and hopefully he's the long-term answer to our left-back problems.
-
I can't see the benefits for the club or Nobby. He loves the area and the club, I can't see him wanting to move to West Ham. From the club's perspective, his versatility, class and vision will make him a valuable player for the coming season.
-
Would rather they bought him if anything, can't see the benefits in him going out on loan.
