  1. CT not being funny but how old are you? i got the impression yr pretty young
  2. also heard/seen man city have signed a new player, anyone know who?
  3. Adam is going to liverpool. maybe worth a gamble but i think they need better players if they want to get into the top 4 Liverpool have confirmed that they have finally reached an agreement with Blackpool regarding the transfer of Charlie Adam. The Scotland international will now travel to Merseyside to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms, meaning the deal will more than likely be completed before the weekend. Discussions between the two clubs have been ongoing for six months following failed bids in the winter, but progress was made on Wednesday morning. The previous sticking point had been Liverpool's apparent refusal to meet an asking price set by Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston and manager Ian Holloway. With funds in short supply, Blackpool have been understandably eager for as much profit as possible on their 25-year-old captain and skysports.com has reported that the price tag is £9million. "Liverpool football club today announced they have reached agreement with Blackpool for the transfer of Charlie Adam. The player will now travel to Merseyside for a medical and to discuss personal terms." Liverpool FC Quotes of the week Progress Liverpool, who were also understood to be prepared to offer Jonjo Shelvey on loan as a sweetener, have not confirmed a fee, but have announced an agreement with their former top-flight rivals. A statement on the Anfield club's official website read: "Liverpool football club today announced they have reached agreement with Blackpool for the transfer of Charlie Adam. "The player will now travel to Merseyside for a medical and to discuss personal terms." Liverpool failed in their attempts to sign Adam in the January transfer window, when Tottenham also showed an interest, but are now almost certain to have got their man. It is unlikely that personal terms will prove a stumbling block, with Adam widely reported to have set his heart on a move to Liverpool in the winter, to mean Blackpool are set to lose their influential playmaker. Pursuit They also announced in a short statement: "Blackpool football club can confirm that an agreement has been reached with Liverpool for the transfer of skipper Charlie Adam. "The 25-year-old has now been granted permission to discuss personal terms with the club and undergo a medical." The progress will help appease Liverpool fans who were becoming antagonised by the club's stuttering business in the transfer window. Manager Kenny Dalglish signed Jordan Henderson for £20m from Sunderland, but was beaten to Connor Wickham by the Black Cats, while Phil Jones joined Manchester United. However, the announcement regarding Adam also follows action in the pursuit of Aston Villa's Stewart Downing, who was the subject of a failed £15m bid on Tuesday. Liverpool are expected to make a renewed approach for the England winger in the region of £19m, with owners Fenway Sports Group determined to sign young, British talent. got it from sky sports
  4. topic to discuss other teams goings and comings
  5. think its very unlikely plus can you trust a update that gets the players names wrong? Djemba Ba
  6. Last updated at 12:39 AM on 4th July 2011 Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is ready to join the battle for Real Madrid's Sergio Canales. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder was bought by Real from Racing Santander ahead of Manchester United, City and Arsenal but has failed to make an impact at the Bernabeu and is available for a season on loan. Pardew has already completed deals for Sylvain Marveaux, Mehdi Abeid, Yohan Cabaye and former West Ham striker Djemba Ba, and is now keen on adding Canales to his ranks. However the former Irons boss will have to fend off interest from Premier League rivals Aston Villa and Everton along with newly-promoted QPR. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...io-Canales.html
  7. I don't buy that. Our squad is no bigger than last season and we're shod of Campell and Nolan's hefty wages in addition to Carroll's. The total for the three new players may exceed that, but only marginally if it was the case. you can't say that man, you'll spoil the summer for CT, Deano, jaysouthernmag and Toonpack, all wanking away there in expectation of aiming for the dizzy heights of 10th place, as stated by Dekka
  8. I'd say he is more number 1. Deano is number 7 CT is number 7, he suffers from Premature ejaculation. he seems to me as the one that gets the most excited when a player is linked. in general most people are number 1 or 3 I do, however being an optimist as well means I dont get down hearted if they dont come off as there will be a bigger better signing just around the next corner.

  10. By Annie Eaves Published 10:00 22/06/11 Ah, the summer transfer window: three balmy, barmy months in which normally sane football fans go doo-lally at the merest drop of a rumour. But which Creature of the Transfer Window are you? 1) The Eternal Optimist Don’t worry about a thing, ‘cos every seemingly ridiculous signing will be alright. Sold your best striker and replaced him with a dud from the second tier of French football? Eh, it can be hard to score goals in that division, English football will suit him. The Eternal Optimist will spin everything so that it makes perfect sense. Natural Habitat: A Betting Shop Most likely to say: “The manager knows what he’s doing.” Least likely to say: “We’ve signed WHO?” 2) The Football Manager Addict Never heard of a player and have no idea how he’d fit in at your club? Just find the Football Manager Addict. They’ll be able to give you a rundown of his strengths, weaknesses, positional ability, shot strength, attitude, sell-on value and how good they’ll be in five years. Who needs to actually watch football anyway!? Natural Habitat: University Halls of Residence Most likely to say: “I know it’s not real BUT...” Least likely to say: “I’ve renewed my season ticket.” 3) The Apathetic Jaded by years of transfer windows these people have seen it all. Cynical about any link with a player they take everything with a tonne of salt. Always ready to hose down your excitement about the possibility of a signing, frustratingly they’re correct more often than not. Natural Habitat: On a Higher Plane Most likely to say: ‘There’s no point speculating until he’s pictured with the shirt on.’ Least likely to say: “The deal is almost done, I read it on Twitter.” 4) The Committed Pessimist It’s all going wrong. It is. Perhaps they predicted doom wrongly last year but this time they really mean it. The club is going the wrong way. A slippery slope to nowhere. So you’ve just signed a world class player? Pah, what’s world class these days? He could get injured on the first day of the season and then what? A new keeper, two defenders, a midfielder or three, and a top class striker are essential to avoid the fate they are predicting – and even then it will be a close run thing. Natural Habitat: Football Forums Most likely to say: “I’m not a pessimist, I’m a realist.” Least likely to say: “We’re looking good for next season.” 5) The In-The-Know This creature literally thrives at this time of year and is lesser spotted outside of it. They won’t reveal why they know what they know but they’ll tell you that they know it. They just know y’know. They know what you don’t know but would like to know yet they never know anything that would be boring to know as that wouldn’t be worth them knowing. Now you know. Natural Habitat: In the Pub or on Twitter Most likely to say: “Just trust me.” Least likely to say: “I’ve no idea.” 6) The Wind-up Merchant Of course your best player wants to leave, you’re a small club. Last season was your peak and so next season will be your trough. Its better you accept it now. You’re a selling club. Not in the market for best players. Basically find the most controversial angle on any subject and the Wind Up Merchant will take it to a new level. Natural Habitat: On the payroll at TalkSPORT Most likely to say: “If you disagree, you know how to get in touch.” Least likely to say: “I could be wrong as it’s just my opinion after all.” 7) The Sufferer of Premature Elation A lack of football can lead to a certain level of delirium for these people. Just the slightest rumour can result in them proposing formations for next season to suit the player's strengths, making up chants, and contacting the club shop to see what number shirt the player will be wearing. Natural Habitat: Pacing Any Room Repeatedly Most likely to say: "Where should I get the tattoo?" Least likely to say: "It'll never happen." 11. apart from the billionaire remark i agree with you 100%. good post
  12. isnt he a liverpool fan? if so more chance of him going to liverpool. tottenham have got a good record of taking good young english players to white heart lane so wont be too surprised if he ended up at either club. i reckon the fee will be around 10m with add ons taking it up to 13/14m. worth a pop but dont see cashley slashing out 10m on a unproven 18yr old I heard Spurs have first refusal on Wickham which would put the advantage in their court surely? perhaps, but 1st refusal doesnt mean they are the ONLY team that has the right to bid/talk to the player. am sure if city came in with a crazy bid totenham wouldnt be able to talk to the player unless they match citys offer. this is how it works right? ( a serious question )
  13. i have a restaurant, me and my brother bought it as a failing business but now it does ok. if your ever in the south east yr very welcome to come in for a meal. i will offer you a phall on the house give me your recipe for a 1980's type vindaloo, not the tomato and onion based curries with chilli they do nowadays, and I might start to believe you. i was born in 1984 so it might be a little hard. am not a chef so i cant really help you but from what i hear from my workers and other kitchen staff the food bk then wasnt a very good standard. personal taste i guess. i can make you a really good biryani no, no, I'll make a vindaloo myself. Just pm me the recipe or put it on here, I'm sure one of your chefs will know a good recipe for a 1980's vindaloo. They were vastly superior to what you get now. In my opinion of course. i'll see what i can do for you but i wouldnt hold my breath. in my staff the person with the most experience is the chef but his only been doing it 13yrs or so. i know one guy thats been doing it for about 30yrs so if i can i will have a word with him. any luck yet ? lol. i completely forgot mate. i tell you what i will give you thename and number of the place that might be able to help you. i'll send it to yr mail
  14. This. If people say he's not managed to break into the Chelsea team yet and score goals on a regular basis on this level, then what about Erdinc? 8 or 9 goals last season in the French League iirc. From what I've seen from him at Bolton for 6 months, I'd sign him if he's available for £10m. i think the price will be around 15m. good player
  15. the prise money isnt great but the extra gate money should make it worth the while plus if you get to the latta stages the club name will be enhanced were not in it so dont really care for it
  16. The Europa League that nobody wants to be in? Our squad would implode under the stress of having to play Raylor for 30 or so games a season. There's a reason nobody wants to qualify for it. (not implying that you think we should be aiming for it). While I agree its a drain and doesn't offer much financial reward, I and I guess a vast majority of fans would love to be in it. I have probably argued for and against this in my time but I think it would be fun, exciting and help with recruitment overseas. i think for the fans of the top 6 the competition is just another carling cup but for the fans of the smaller teams its a great opportunity to follow their club around europe and maybe like Portsmouth get a glamorous tie like milan.

  18. I agree its not easy but that doesnt mean we cant do it. And tbf (not that I take a great deal of interest in other clubs), but I haven't seen much evidence of any strong pushes to really improve next year from any other teams outside the top 6. Out of the pack that you think would be pushing Liverpool and Spurs, such as ..... Everton, Fulham, Villa, Sunderland I think we have as good a, if not better, chance than any of them. Look at Villa's form after they signed Bent. They were in the relegation places in January and finished above us. Spending £24m on one player is a push. We were 7th in January, having been 5th 12 games in. Selling your only quality striker isn't a push though. We went the opposite way. True, but they've just got McCleish in, they have a few walking away on frees and their best players are set to leave. We are very much addressing our weaknesses. we have created our major weaknesses by selling our best players dullard hi
  19. i think he'll get 18months atleast. his done a good job at porto. i dont think his side has lost a games this season. his olny 33 yrs old, that is incredible
  20. You've easily turned into the most cynical on here like. I wouldnt disagree that either tbh but I now see Stoke as a bigger club in terms of current football standing (and you could never gauge how hard that is for me to say!). FA Cup final, Europa league next season, hes captain there and much liked by the fans. Stoke made it clear he wasnt for sale so to then sell them to a club who is a rival for league places wouldnt seem sensible. Would you have said Portsmouth were when they were in a similar position? I can't say the likes of Ben Arfa, Cabaye or Marveaux would have chosen to sign for Stoke over us. I'd wait and see what they're like before running your mouth. We might wish they'd signed for Stoke. + 1. but for me newcastle are a much bigger club then stoke and probably bigger then they will ever be
  21. unless yr french you can fcuk off
