Newcastle United: Club Sold To PCP - Official
rogerbarton replied to The Mighty Hog's topic in Newcastle Forum
Apple can integrate it into Apple TV, Amazon into Prime, Netflix into, well, Netflix. Facebook don't have a product for it. Not that that's to stop them building one with the wealth they have. -
The Pardew match that exemplified his tactics was Wolves at home in the year we actually finished 5th. We'd been on a great run and against a team well on their way down. Took an early 2 goal lead, but spent the rest of the game knocking it back to Krul who'd boot it upfield to Papiss Cisse who'd lose the header every single time. Needless to say, we threw away the 2 goal lead and drew 2-2.

I think Apple are more likely bidders than Facebook. Anyway, I'm very wary of getting my hopes up for now. It seems a lot could rest on the Chinese Communist Party Congress which takes place tomorrow. If they relax laws on buying English football clubs, we'd likely be near the top of the list. -
Really pleased with how we're playing and a good point on the face of it. Did anyone notice Sky's stats where we were bottom or 19th in a bunch of passing statistics. Roundly ignoring that they all pertained in some way to how many passes we'd made and possession. We're a counter attacking team and look bloody good at it. I don't hear many people moaning at how Mourinho takes his team to Anfield, parks the bus and gets a point. I can't help but feel a bit disappointed we didn't get the win though, and I think Rafa will feel the same. They didn't really threaten much at all in terms of creating clear-cut opportunities. Just got to have us drilled and ready for Palace next week, cos with Zaha back and Townsend playing better on the other wing they look a much better team.

These lot can't hit a barn door at the moment. Long hasn't scored in months, Gabbiadini is doing a Papiss Cisse but was never as good in the first place, and Charlie Austin's knackered. I think we'll frustrate them and could even nick it. Hope Ritchie's fit though.

And he's cost us about £6m? Got to be the best value signing of the season.

Just catching up. So the US are out after losing to bottom side Trinidad & Tobago - who had nothing to play for. Yet they still only crashed out entirely because Panama beat Costa Rica via a phantom goal. Panama make it for their first World Cup ever!
-
Why was the free kick awarded? As I best understand it, indirect free kicks are awarded for technical infringements rather than 'on the ball' type offences. Correct me if I've missed something.

Syria leading Australia in Sydney. En route to a final play-off against Honduras or Panama.

She's said to be worth about £110m, so I'm struggling to see how she could buy any football club on her own. Perhaps with some of the Middle Eastern investors she has links to? Or is she simply acting as an intermediary? There doesn't seem to be much clarity on this.

Anyone know what happened to Mbemba btw? Not even in the squad and supposedly was a tactical move.

Their net spend was £54m this summer, and - thanks to the Lukaku deal - their total outlay was a staggering £150m. Incredibly, they've managed to bring in a selection of slow, immobile players and failed to actually replace the guy they knew was leaving months before the transfer window even opened. It tells you all that they've got Wayne Rooney leading the line when he scored 13 goals in 53 games across the past two seasons. In a better team than Everton's. I think Koeman will be a goner based on that alone unless things pick up very quickly.

Just scrolled through his Twitter and he does indeed look like a Brexit loving twat. However, I'd imagine you need a fair few knobs in any complex takeover deal

It still feels weird for me to see a Newcastle team defend so well. We’re fantastically organised and again restricted a very good team to very few chances. Side note: there is no way Joselu was going to score without Matip’s intervention.
-
I’d be surprised if this many journos and ex-players were all teasing it without there being anything in it at all. I think Benitez has been told about all this by Ashley, which is why he’s been happy to stick around despite lack of funds.
-
If you remember last season they started really well but had a dreadful October. Not sure they’ll recover after this time either.

Tottenham absolutely putting Huddersfield to the sword at the moment like. Could be an absolute howking if it carries on.

All hearsay I know, but someone I know who works for BT Sport said Owen is among the worst to work with. When he sat near her at a team dinner once, his first words to her were "I bet your boyfriend does you up the arse?" Also frequently boasts about the number of affairs he's had that his wife hasn't found out about apparently.
-
Not beyond us to get something from this and Liverpool have found it hard to take their chances. But if the dream team of Coutinho, Firmino, Mane and Salah are all on the pitch then I fear they'll be able to win this one 2-0 or 3-1. First time I've actually got a prediction in this season, though, and have gone 1-1 there.

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

True, though I'd rather them with Ancelotti and us with Rafa, than them with Rafa and us with Alan Curbishley. -

Apparently West 'Ammmmm are interested. No idea why he'd go there, but at least it would remove the threat of them poaching Rafa. -
At least it'll weaken a potential rival. Looking forward to the game on Sunday actually. Can see us frustrating Liverpool who've been finding it hard to break teams down.

People seem to be catching on now at last. Bolton relegated within a few years, Newcastle relegated the next season, Blackburn relegated the next season, West Ham still struggling despite ridiculous investment, Sunderland relegated the next season, Palace now bottom with no goals scored after 6 games. It was actually a West 'Am colleague at work who flagged it the other day, saying he thought their troubles now were down to Allardyce and the way he'd drilled the team to play.

Premier League top 6 want a greater share of the TV money
rogerbarton replied to Haydnator's topic in Newcastle Forum
It's ludicrous. We don't have a level playing field as it is, let alone if they allow this to happen. I'm not even sure how Scudamore still has that job anyway.
