  1. Fair play to Bolton, they're knocking the ball about nicely and hacking us every time we get forward. Doing a good job of keeping us quiet so far
  2. The good news is that Cisse only needs one chance to score. The bad news is we haven't created a single chance yet.
  3. Agreed. Ultimately they still paid the price for the host of defensive midfielders Mancini brought in - Yaya Toure's a powerhouse, but Barry, De Jong, even the likes of Milner. Aguero was the only one consistently banging in goals and his form slowed up second half of the season, while Silva was the only really creative threat in midfield and when he dipped they dipped. Dzeko's too hit and miss, Nasri flattered to deceive and Adam Johnson wasn't given a chance.
  4. Last thing we need is crippling one of them when we have a 2 week break ahead. But one of them even would make a big difference. If Colo came back, Perchinho could move into Tiote's role, for example. Not too sure on Raylor as a central midfielder either...
  5. Thing is, for me, he's always gonna get at least 15/20 games a season, cos Tiote's injury prone. Throw in suspensions/injuries elsewhere, plus the ACN next season and I don't see his problem. Not sure he's actually fit enough to be a regular first team starter anyway - always gets injured whenever he's given a run in the team for a prolonged period.
  6. I don't fancy Chelsea today at Craven Cottage like. It's made things much trickier with Arsenal winning yesterday 'cos they look to have sealed CL qualification. A four horse race for two spots would have cranked up the pressure on all the other sides. Everyone's spouting out the cliche, but it's very true, we just need to keep on winning and see what happens. Momentum is the most important thing at this point of the season and we've got it at the moment.
  7. I see The Chronicle are saying Guthrie's waiting for a summer move to Villa... Makes no sense to me if true.
  8. The injuries leave us short but these lot were absolutely woeful against Fulham on Saturday and haven't had a long turnaround from then. It might not be as good as the last few games so we'll need the fans behind us, but the front three should win it for us.
  9. Oh and I think Shane Ferguson looks a very tidy player. Quick, good feet, decent in the tackle and a good passer of the ball too. Would make a better wide midfielder than full back I think.
  10. - Raylor's goal and beating the mackems at their own place yet again - Ba's performance in the 3-1 at Stoke - Smashing Man Ure 3-0 - Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Ba and Cisse against West Brom setting the tone for what we've seen in the last few games - like everything we'd hoped for coming together. - The game against the Bin Dippers for all the obvious joyous moments - Holding on at Old Trafford with 10 men has to go up there too
  11. I like this feature - will have a proper read through the Bolton fans' posts tomorrow, would be interested to see where they think it's all gone wrong and how much exactly they attribute it to the two injuries. Swansea fans really did show themselves up as classless cunts though - gives me a different impression of them, thought they were all right when i went to the game there in the Championship
  12. Balotelli lead role in his own self indulgent soap opera today...looks like he has something printed on a t-shirt below his top too. Arenal started off dominant but Citeh have comem ore into it. Would love to see Man City do 'em over and then the Champions League race would really be on!
  13. Do we really need lazy Adebayor who's stalling over a move to Spuds because they can't match his £150k a week at Citeh? He's inconsistent at the best of times anyway and hardly inspires loyalty. When we have Ba, Cisse and Ben Arfa already i wouldn't touch Ade with a barge pole.
  14. I think you've got to admire the way they're playing tiki taka football with the team they have, although it has been mentioned that perhaps Martinez had put the foundations in place. For me, I prefer faster paced, more incisive football, like a great Bayern Munich side, the Germans, or even one of the great Manchester Uniteds we've seen in recent years. Passing the ball about all day long is lovely an' all that, but it's daft to say it makes for an entertaining game of football. Swansea have done fantastically to be able to dominate possession in such a way but it can also make it difficult for them, especially if they go behind early, because their tactics dictate that they waste a lot of time in any attack and allow the opposition to get back behind the ball all the time. It's all well and good if you have Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, Silva, Messi to knit the ball through but much more difficult otherwise! I still won't listen to too harsh criticism of them though.
  15. Frankly I think the main difference between AVB and Di Matteo has been luck recently. Chelsea have looked fairly dire in the last couple of games and managed to scrape through with more than they deserve. I can't see that continuing against trickier opposition and I really feel that (and I know I'm getting ahead of myself here) if we can get some good points out of these next three games, we could go to Stamford bridge buzzing, with the hosts possibly just been knocked out of two cups, and turn them over.
  16. The latest is that Tiote will probably miss out but Cabaye should be fit. It's disappointing the amount of time Cheick has spent on the sidelines this season which might actually put one or two teams off making a bid for him. I too would love to see Ba get back among the goals, I think it's just a case of one going in for him cos he has had a few good efforts that have been unlucky not to hit the back of the net. Obviously he has had less opportunities than before but I can see us creating a good few chances tomorrow. I'm guessing either Raylor or Gosling will be in for Tiote?
  17. Perch and Williamson have been solid as a rock these last two games! Perchinho was fantastic today. Another great win and I don't really need to say anything about Papiss! Could the Champions league be on?! Really?!
  18. Is James Beattie still available? He'd rough em up alongside Williamson
  19. Well of course I'd have Ivanovic in the team if he were available for Swansea, but if we're talking about moving forward I think we could get a more mobile and defensively astute player in.
  20. Simpson would actually be best off staying back most of the time, as far as I'm concerned. He commits himself too far up the pitch and offers nothing in terms of delivery into the box anyway. See the last seconds against Arsenal as a case in point. I've never seen anyone hack balls off the line as much as him, was there again against the Bin Dippers, but I'm unconvinced elsewhere. My tuppence worth on Johnson / Ivanovic, though - good footballers, but I wouldn't want either playing full back for Newcastle. I've seen both of them get shanked on the flanks far too many times. As for Moses, there's no place for someone with such a lack of end product in our team as far as I'm concerned.
  21. Someone probably just gave it to him and asked him to pose with it
  22. Well I doubt Xisco, Gonzales etc. were Keegan's idea as I've no doubt whatsoever he had never heard of them. Bassong was on trial first, Guthrie was Keegan's buy and not sure on Colo/Guti...
