Dubravka arrived on loan in January 2018. We started the 2017/18 season with Elliott, Darlow and Woodman. Elliott was the starter and Darlow waiting in the bench. But Elliott injured his back at the end of 2017, with Darlow making good matches. But Rafa wants a keeper that would be better with his feets, so we get Dubravka. I remember so much controversial with this sign, because anybody knew Dubravka then, and we had 3 GK. Elliott, that looks like the starter, Darlow, that made good impressions in the few matches he played, and Woodman, that was the U21 England keeper and looks like 'The next big thing'. At the end, the Elliott Injury was very long, and we send Woodman on loan to Aberdeen. Krul was out the club in 2017 summer. And, to be fair at that time he was not a very reliable goalkeeper because after breaking his knee, he had only had a couple of months of activity (on loan in the Netherlands) in the last two years.

Elliot Anderson. 😍 -
If we see Isak and Wilson together, this is what I see happening. As you can see, there is very little variation, so it is possible that with the same players we can see both schemes even in the same match.

@Christmas Tree It's something I've been thinking about all day. And honestly, I think we're going to look at all the options. To begin with, I think the signing is rushed and is done in such amounts due to Wilson's injury on Sunday and because it is obvious that it is impossible to think about him all season. This is important to know about Wilson. 23 games injured in 21-22 12 games injured in 20-21 11 games injured in 18-19 25 games injured in 16-17 30 games injured in 15-16 That is to say, of the last 7 seasons, only in two has it been able to have continuity. We don't know what injury he has now. Maybe two weeks, maybe two months. That can condition everything... And if Isak enters the team with a good performance, perhaps there will be no more debate. But thinking about both Wilson and Isak being healthy. What I think is going to happen is that Isak will gradually move into Wilson's position until he becomes the starter. Maybe this year, all things being equal, Wilson will play. But I think there is a very possible option and he goes through playing with two up and moving ASM away from the band. That is, make a strong midfield made up of Bruno, Joelinton and another between Almirón and Willock, put ASM ahead of them, and have Wilson and Isak play together up front. The last one, without a doubt, is that Isak plays wide in the same system we are in, and that the one who lost the place would surely be Almirón (or Willock, with Almirón going to play in the middle).

Let's see. Let's go by parts. The first thing I have to say is that the fee seems very high. But I already commented in its day, when it sounded for 40-45 million, that for that price the Real Sociedad would never sell it. I think I made a post back in the day telling a bit about the player. He is not my favorite if we want to ensure immediate performance, but I do think he is a great signing. He is a very different player than Wilson. He is very good with the ball at his feet, he moves very well on the wing (left). He is capable of generating chances on his own even though he is outnumbered... He is good in aereal plays. On the other hand, I think he is still a bit to develop. He has many conditions, but he doesn't know how to use them all. And I think that also, when he manages to adapt all this, he will also be a very good scorer. Because, today, he is not a top scorer. To this day, he has been a streak forward. He had some very good months in the Netherlands, and at Real Sociedad he has been irregular. In fact, last year he and Sorloth were the worst pairing of strikers in Spain and the strikers who missed the most chances. In my opinion, we should not judge him from the first day for bad. Although the first year he scored only 5 or 6 goals (I think he just scored 6 goals this last year). He is a boy who is 22 years old and has already played 5 in the elite. He has something. But he has to make that leap. I sincerely hope he doesn't start from day one just because of his high price tag. I have no doubt that's not going to happen, because we saw that it didn't happen with Bruno, and it wouldn't have happened with Botman if Targett was healthy. So I hope that he is in the shadow of Wilson and little by little he can find his place. Without a doubt, he is a very good bet for the future. And I think that his style of play can also greatly enhance the second line and players like St. maximin, Bruno and Almirón.

Nah. Its done.

I trust them a lot. Perhaps later the figures end up being different or there are different details. But I quite believe it. I summarize what they say. Isak to Newcastle for €70M. In addition, there is €5M more for variables and Real Sociedad saves 10% of a future sale. PS: I understand that the club has realized that it is impossible to bet everything on Wilson's health.

Hard time to be Chris Wood.

It was a real problem in the started of Atletico 20-21 season. He played in 4-4-2 as Right Back and he had some problems with the position. But as Atletico won the games... Nobody cares. (Very Good Oblak in these days) In the 9-10 week, Atletico needs to change the system to 3-5-2 because both backs (Trippier and Lodi) are always out of position. And the team improved a lot. Y don't believe we need to change our system, but in matches like yesterday, maybe we can started with 3-5-2 or trying to put a Right Winger that helps so much Trippier.

He scored a great goal and is safe from free kicks, but he missed all three of the team's goals. In the first, he broke the offside (I think Burn too). In the second, he defends the position horribly (it is true that he is paired with two rivals, but he is not even able to be in front of the first one and easily wins the position). In the third, he breaks the offside again. That is why, because of his defensive problems, that I told you when we signed him, that obviously we were going to improve in position but that against teams that attack a lot, his defensive problems are very noticeable (especially playing 4-4- 2).

I think you need to take Spanish lessons. I don't have anyone here to talk to in my language ☹️

I hope not. I really hope not. If Bruno goes to Real Madrid I will go from loving him to hating him. PS It is the second time in 4-5 months that the same source (and that same journalist) has spoken about Bruno Guimaraes and about Real Madrid following him.
