  1. What? It's 1-25 in the squad of 25 rather than their actual squad numbers I think. True fact, or enrique taking 7 off barton might be a contentious issue
  2. Perhaps not but let's see how many renew next season. An empty St James park is looking more and more like the only voice we have, and it will never happen. We deserve what we get until we stop going imo. Gate revenue don't touch the sides mate, Sky have seen to that.
  3. Can you please explain how that can happen legally ?? Bonus. We'll show a profit this year after selling Carroll. They can pay themselves a bonus. Hello Toonpack. Ashley to do a Shepherd Eh ?? Nowt's changed except were not in a financial abyss as we were. Ashley's a twat but he owns the club and there's nowt anyone can do about it and he can do whatever he wants until he goes, despite his twatishness the club's in a much more sustainable position than it was when FFS was laterly in charge. Is that someone opening up a can of worms I hear?
  4. I have serious issues with this deal, it could end up having zero effect on us in the transfer market in the summer, even if we spend the £35m on players and wages. Look at it this way, IF we had not sold Andy you would expect a club of our size to spend approx £15m on players in a summer transfer window provided we stay up. That doesn't get you much. Now look at what Pardew is saying, the £35m and I stress only £35m (so immediately no transfer budget for summer) will be spent. First of all Ashley has already made a profit IF only £35m is spent on players and wages because of the net effect to the club of not paying Carroll's 35k p/w (approx £9.1m over 5 years) Effectively then, we would only be spending £25.9m after our saving on his wages. Then, AFTER this figure, Pardew says player sales AND WAGES will be taken account of. Therefore if we sign one player for £15.0m on 35k p/w on 5 1/2 year deal (£10.36m) we are left with a net spend of -£540k. This translates in to Fatty making a profit simply because he is including the wages spent on players. Furthermore, I would suggest some more people will be out the door in summer (Smith, Xisco etc on 50k p/w +), Barton to sign a heavily reduced wage contract. Will all this be taken account of? I think not! In order to actually spend Carrolls money + wages + wages and fees for other players that leave + summer transfer budget we should be looking at approx £80m spend combined on fees and wages (Massively depends on people leaving but can be used as an approximation) Pardew has confirmed £35m will be spent on both wages and fees. That is a net profit, over 5 years, of £55m from selling Carroll and summer transfer dealings. This not taking account of interest gained on the money. If you wanna show your worth Fatty, you need to be spending above the figure of £80m (break even point) not £35m. Us fans are not mugs and will not be fooled.
  5. The problem here is as well, even if Ashley did decide to put the money back in to the club which i seriously doubt, it gives him an excuse to not actually 'spend' any money. Even if we spent £35m in the summer, we would sell a couple of players as always and he would still be in a net positive position
  6. Liverpool fans praising dalgleish for bringing in Carroll and selling Torres. Wonder whether Roy Hodgson would have got the same
  7. Any one think we will get someone in, even on a loan deal, or will we realistically end up with shola and best as 1 and 2? I am bricking it at that thought tbh. Elmander would be a decent deal tho I think but is he too old for us to sign with our current structure etc
  8. That's it then, fucking Best and Ameobi up front. David Craig says no deal agreed yet and he left bycar at same time as players leaving training
  9. it means we've sold carroll little one Or it could mean Ireland Deal has fallen through. Calm down everyone this doesn't necessarily mean anything
  10. If a £25M bid is true, I can't see how we could say no. The cynic in me says we told them to come back later with the offer, lessening the chance for us to re-invest. If he did go, not replacing him is madness. Though, Pardoo does have faith in Best and Shola £30m bid rejected according to the Press Association. Whether that's just holding out for more or a real statement of intent remains to be seen. Sorry guys 35m for carroll is a good deal, I know I'm going to get shot down in flames here but there you go It would be a good deal if we spent the money, problem is we won't. so it could be £200m and I would still be gutted because I know we wont replace him, or if we do it will be with Jay Bothroyd or similar
  11. Does anyone have a tsream link to ssn. I had one earlier but the guy changed it to euro sport and now i can't find one that works?
  12. He's got a fucking poneytail Carroll, Carroll But when he shoots he doesn't fail Carroll, Carroll And with full force he'll break ya jaw but he will never fail to score Annnndddddy Carrrrrrolllllll Newcastle's number 9
  13. watched Taken last week. The best film I have seen in years, some quality quotes from Liam Neeson "I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you." HAHA brilliant P.S , he is hard a fuck
  14. Ye he said he would quit. It's an absolute joke, Wenger and Fergie can put the kids in for what they see as less important games but Blackpool are not allowed to rotate their squad. I like Ollie but I hope he walks and then the FA get a load of shit out of principle. At the end of the day, Holloway would get the sack if they got relegated so he has to do what he thinks is best in order to keep his club up, and the corrupt telling people how to run the club when their is approx £40m at stake for relegation is a complete joke. Also, does anyone know where there fines end up going?
  15. I think its right n all. He will be on probs the lowest salary in the premier league and probs was in the championship as well. If he brings players in trains them then the club makes a huge profit he should get a cut, it's no different to a salesman on commission. But for Holloway, the club would not have charlie adam, would not be in the prem, and therefore would not be considering even £5m never mind £15m. He desrves every penny of his bonus in my book, its not like he has much chance of a cup winning bonus like is it?
  16. They've done alright and so has the team. I personally thought Best did OK against Tottenham, he brought the ball down very well on more than one occasions and held it up ok. He is not the answer but again a decent squad player and at the end of the day, we only came up last year so we should learn to walk before we run. There is no point thinking players are crap, Shola for me is the second best striker at the club. He may not be great but it is all relative.
  17. Ranger has been given a few starts both last season and this season in the carling sup and his impact is completely lost. He is only good as an impact sub at present running at defenders when they are tired. At the start of the game when they are really on the ball he gets dominated and fades away. I also don't see why he would deserve a start, the lad has missed sitter after sitter and whether he creates the chances or not what difference does it make if he is gonna miss them. Because he's got a chance to improve whereas shola won't, he does fuck all for 90minutes, misses sitters, doesn't bother his arse 90% of the time to even get into position to miss sitters or chase down balls or close down defenders on the ball. I don't see where the debate here is tbh, week in week out everyone on here slates shola for his lack of effort, inability and falling over. Even if ranger is far from the finished article he's going to put more effort in at least, which puts him ahead of best/shola. and Rangers only started 3 games this season, all in the league cup... maybe if he got some consistent starts instead of one here and there with 5pointless minutes at the end of games he'd be a bit better. Ameobi @29 and still being as useless as always has infuriated me enough over the years that i'd happily let someone who will at least run during a game start. The debate is Ameobi's goal per starts ratio at newcastle is 0.4 goals per games and he has been on the bench for most of the time without regular starts and regular runs in the team but he has still managed these figures. Ameobi looks poor and lacks effort but you have to admit, for a squad player he puts the ball away better than most. I am not a shola fan, but to claim ranger should be ahead of him without any factual basis is beyond me. Ranger has been given chances, granted few, but he has still never taken them. If he had anything about him games like away at Accrington for example at the start of the season he would have put a shift in and showed what he can do but he was dire. Furthermore, I feel that Nile Ranger in a starting 11 puts no more effort in than Shola Ameobi. Like I said, for me, Ranger is an impact sub nothing more at present. You can't go around giving people starts in the hope they may surprise you and succeed and leave better players on the bench. We are fighting for every point and that is a gamble which if I was manager I would not be taking.
