I remember this when I overheard this guy on the phone at work arguing with three mobile and I started to pick up it was for £2.50 off his line rental otherwise he wouldn't renew. I have a mate who is a villa fan and he reckons villa are just like us! Playing crap and ready for a good hiding from a team. I just wonder is we can be that team. Best doesn't really offer much to the team. He is very much an individual player however he seems to have a habit of being in the right place as the right time to nick a goal. Not a bad talent to have! He goes through purple patches where he will score for a few games and then go cold. Owen use to have that trait to him as well. Wouldn't score for 5 matches or so and then hit a glut of goals. He doesn't deserve the amount of stick he gets on here. He scored goals last season and he was our match winner vrs Fulham. If Rooney had done that back heal for the second goal you could have filled a pint glass of jizz from the media about how amazing that was however since it was Best it was just a well taken goal.

I think Shearer was the best money we ever spent on a striker. For £15million we got goals, we got a legend and we got a very loyal player to the club once he signed. Turned down Man Utd in the process.

Looks like Liverpool fans are having a war with each other about Andy Carroll. Most saying he has been the biggest waste of money ever whilst others saying he will need time to settle in. If he doesnt score in the the next 5 games, he will have every one of those fans on his back. I wonder what will happen with him! I didnt think he has done that bad. Had a good header against Arsenal however when Suarez came on he gave Arsenal all sorts of problems!

Its a good and solid start to the season. I would have taken 4 points from these games especially with a win over the mackems. Arsenal are a team in trouble however they are still a very good side and they have some truly brilliant players. They have Van Persie, Gervinho and Arshavin along with Walcott to threaten us. As regards to Sunderland, Newcastle held out for the first 30 minutes. Its a game plan that worked. Let them burn themselves out and we were desperately unlucky not to win by a few more. I think our main point is the striking department, Demba Ba hasnt quite settled in to our team and we are pretty toothless after that. We really need one of those lively strikers who will hussle the oppositions defence. You want them to come off thinking "I cant be fucked chasing that guy every game" As regards to Left Back, well done Ryan Taylor for playing there despite being well out of position. The lad has a belter of a right foot however unfortunately thats one of the only talents he really has in his locker. Pity Barton couldnt teach him the midfield role as he has the potential to be a great winger. As regards to Fulham, its a game we have every right to think we can go in and win however I think we will draw this one 2-2 unless we get some really good striker in!

I think Pardew had no choice but to play Jonas yesterday even if he had others available. One thing about Jonas is he tracks back and makes sure he is helping out defence. With a right sided defender playing well out of position, we really needed Jonas yesterday. Against a quick Arsenal side, we needed someone with pace and the work rate to keep up with them.
