KeithJ replied to south_cheshire_toon's topic in Newcastle Forum
Eric Pieters for Left Back - Good young player who wants to come and isnt exactly going to cost an arm and a leg Maiga - Done deal according to a few people Centre Back - Ridgewell I fancy Drenthe at the end of the season for nothing personally! Excellent signing! -
Newcastle United vs Everton match thread
KeithJ replied to Monroe Transfer's topic in Newcastle Forum
Stoke have only concede one goal at home all season and that was the Man Utd who still didnt win, Spurs have been on a great run of form, Arsenal well they have been indifferent however I am getting tired of this. The games we werent getting much from last season we are begining to grind out results. We lost this one last season 2-1, I think we need a win in this one to keep on top and keep third for another week before we play Citeh, Manure and Chelski... hopefully Terrys ban for 6 months for being racist will come through by then haha! -
I think Ba has been nothing short of impressive for us now that he is in gear. He seems full of running, willing to give everything, can finish and always looking for the goal. The other important thing is mentally he knows he has been realistic in knowing that we havent done anything yet in the first 10 games and needs to keep going. I personally think that if he keeps on going we should give him the number 9 shirt next season as a reward for his good form and its also an incentive for him to stay as well. I can think of other number 9's who werent worthy like him to wear it, a certain Oba Martins.

Shepherd Praises Ashley...McKeag Jr has a pop
KeithJ replied to Happy Face's topic in Newcastle Forum
What was he suppose to say when we were 4th? Team is full of shit and Ashley should blow tens of millions on another Owen? Fair play to him for being man enough to say it cause that wouldnt have been easy to say! -
The club needs to sort out a minder for Nile Ranger, not to stop any fights but to stop him from being so stupid!
-
I hope we get him, this would make our squad very competitive and more solid. If we get Maiga and then another CB then we will be a very solid unit.

Ben Arfa to start in this one given that Best is injured. Logically that would be it however Pardew might decide not to risk him against the thugby team. I am thinking the same. Tiote and Taylor to start and we have a chance as these are part of our solid spine. I think if both start then Stoke will have a hard job of deciding who to mark, do you mark the play making Cabaye or the mecurial Ben Arfa who can pop up in a split second and split your defence open or smash a stunning strike. I think Obertan will start but Marveux will come on at the 70th minute if we are not winning. Would love to see Santon start but unlikely. Prediction Taylor starting - narrow win Tiote starting - draw Taylor and Tiote starting - narrow win Neither starting - lose

I like it, I wonder if its that Skin tight for the replica shirts!

To be honest, I think we can get something against Chelsea and Manure! Last season we managed to get something out of both of them. Ok Manure at OT is a bit of a crap one. It was the shit teams we done shit against!

Reasoning behind supporting Newcastle United.
KeithJ replied to south_cheshire_toon's topic in Newcastle Forum
How long a Toon Fan : 27 years Why the Toon : Dad was a Geordie and thought he would not only bless me with going bald in later life but thought fuck it, he may as well be depressed at never winning a cup. Teaches me for being an impressionable child and getting bribed with the latest kit from the season. Location : Edinburgh Toon Games been to : Got too many to list as I love going down to the toon. Best one - Beating Sunderland 5-1, Worse one - Getting beat 4-1 from Portsmouth. The game where we lost 3 goals in 5 minutes. I remember keeping on looking at the ref thinking something has to be wrong with that. Where we have been / are going : Seen a lot in my time as a fan from players fighting on the pitch, superstar signings, dodgy managers to relegation. I think we have got a good team at the minute because we have bought players who are hungry and came here to prove themselves. The minute Alan Smith leaves then we will leave behind the era of high paid shit that done fuck all for us! Future - Who knows? A trophy win would be nice however I am just proud to go to SJP and sit in the Gallowgate end. I love roaring on my team and I love the excitement of match day. Admittedly I feel a fraud chanting "Geordies!!!" -
Anyone know if this is on the Radio?
-
Abeid is being lined up to replace him... although I thought he was more of an attacking player than Tiote.
-
Oh PS mate... When the transfer window comes chuck in the odd "The link is wide of the mark" and the Chronny will be all over you like Bramble meeting a girl

I think he is referring to our games at the tailend of last season where we were unbeaten for the 14 mark. The article isnt bad however it isnt really good. I feel you have went out and copied other peoples work and put it all together really. My advice would be to maybe look at something like our Striker targets we have been linked with and do some real digging that you havent read on the main stream newcastle website. Nobody really knows about Maiga, is he strong? is he fast? we know he has scored 4 goals in his last 6 games though. I think you need to make your work more unique and make it looks as if you have put work in to it.

Haha! I remember that! I just remember someone laughing and saying that oor shola!

I went to the game and I felt that Raylor had a really good game today. I definitely did not expect him to be in that position for very long. He does seem to get exposed however he has the rest of the defence to back him up like a true unit. I felt our right side is definitely our weaker side at the moment. Obertan shouldn't be a starter at the moment as he lacks a cutting edge and doesn't use his pace to it's full potential. Marveux was certainly the man who changed the game for me and should start. Ba looked a little bit knackered after 60 minutes but well done Pardew for realising what changes were needed. Cabaye - I was hungover to fuck and couldn't be bothered to write the betting slip as him for first goal scorer. His goal was well overdue and he is fast becoming a legend. The way he plays football is like an art. He will only get better the more he plays.

Perhaps we need another quality CD in Jan rather than a striker.
KeithJ replied to Park Life's topic in Newcastle Forum
Reason why Gabby would be pie in the sky would be his high price tag and the fact he is a Villa fan who wants to be a Steven Gerrard.... although he could go all Andy Carroll! -

The worrying thing about Ba is that everytime I see him get a tackle put in against him, I worry he will pick up a knock and misses games. He will be away to the African Nations and even looking beyond that to the Pre-season, we got to rememeber he will be doing Ramadan and he wont be as sharp as he would usually be. A few would argue that Best and Shola would be good enough to last until he came back however we really do need another threatening striker in the shape of a really lightening quick and agile player. This would add a new threat in our attack and a great option from the bench. In terms of a centre back, Samba is a good shout however at 27, would he just fit in to our blue print and no more. I would be more fearful for how much he would cost, etc. My dream January - Eric Peters and Agbonlahor. Both fit in to the blue print. However I think Gabby would be a bit a pie in the sky target! -
Liverpool wanting more TV money cause they are 'special'...
KeithJ replied to Park Life's topic in Newcastle Forum
I think this is the high flying Liverpool wanting more money to become more competitive. They have spent massively and have took a gamble this season on getting in to the champions league. So far, they are currently sitting two points behind a Newcastle side that was assembled through balancing the books. The reason why the EPL is so good is that everyone can have a go at blowing money and not get anywhere. Look at Sunderland and us to an extent. We blew a lot of money that didnt exactly make things better. Then you get the steady eddie Everton who challenged more recently. Liverpool Chairman may be looking at Liverpool football club however he is forgetting the bigger picture of why Liverpool are being shown around the world. Its because they are playing in the best show case league in the world. -
Nice for an international coach realising that a player shouldnt be risked and potentially crocked for his club in a match that doesnt really matter.
